Mario Universe The Wario subfranchise... doesn't have a fanbase?

Have a read of this interesting article.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this. Apparently, even though Wario has sold several millions, there doesn't seem to be an intensely dedicated fanbase to him. Not to the level of mainstream recognition of Mario mind you, but it looks like most people think more of Wario as a Mario spinoff character like Waluigi and Daisy instead of a real subfranchise character like Yoshi and Donkey Kong.

Well, I'd like to be the first to say, Bulls**t! I support Wario. He's got every bit of the same amount of appeal that Yoshi and DK do. Let's start somewhere, people!

It's-a-we, Wario!

Still up Peach's dress.
I know one guy whose a HUGE Wario Land fan.

Alas, aside from Syrup I'll take WarioWare over Land any day of the week.

Considering how the internet cried over Ashley not being a playable character last year(no seriously), I'm shocked there's not a more vocal fandom for the series.

A lot of Nintendo franchise don't have vocal fanbases. Rhythm Heaven sells a lot but you barely see people talking about the series, for example. The Mario RPGs are often considered among the best games of their respective systems, yet people barely talk about them on internet boards. The same goes to the WarioWare, Wario Land series and before New Leaf, to Animal Crossing as well.

Honestly, if it isn't Zelda, Pokémon or Smash Bros, it is hard to find places to talk about other Nintendo series :/

For the longest time, I thought Wario's walking and running animations in Brawl were based on his boss fight in Super Mario Land 2, considering how choppy they seemed.

But then I realized that in WarioWare, he also had the same animations for the most part. There's hardly anything of him from the Wario Land series, is there?

So bad that the Warioland series was so bad-treated by Smash creators. I'm a really huge fan of Warioland, I've grown with the first Warioland and I loved every WL episode, Warioland 4 is short but really fun and tasty. They seem to have forgotten that the Warioland series was actually the real, first Wario's series. WarioWare has come muuuuch after.
I enjoyed Wario World (Gamecube) too. Not a masterpiece, but it gave me some hours of fun.

What is this madness? O.o Boy is that article wrong! There are plenty of massive Wario fans out there (including me, he's my favourite character :p ), and ESPECIALLY of the Warioland series, and to say it isn't popular is down right wrong!

So, anyone up for creating Warioboards/Warioforums/Waaapedia? :p

Edit: Wario Forums is actually already a thing guys. Lol Now that article is complete crap!
