The uses of the freeze

I will start off by saying, I guess you could call me a smash noob, because I am not as hardcore as most of you, and don't know most of these advanced techniques. But, I have found myself wondering, what really is a good way to apply PK Freeze? I can rarely land it (accept in free for all's) and I almost feel like it is a wasted move...but I am sure you guys have some way to utilize it, so let me know your suggestions!
