Smash Journeyman
Ok so this is my first attempt at writing anything so critiques both good and bad are welcomed. This is the sidequest of Kafei and Anju in Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It's so good that it should be put on paper so thats what i'm attempting to do. Happy reading!
Chapter 1
Beginning and the Stock Pot Inn
Love. It is expressed in many ways. It can be seen in two newlyweds exchanging rings. It can be seen in two school-mates sharing a lunch. It can even be seen in an elderly couple sitting in a park. Gifts, compliments and even just a look can all convey the emotion of love.
Clock Town lies in the center of the land called Termina. It is a peaceful place with easy access to the four surrounding areas: the southern swamp, the northern mountains, the western ocean, and the eastern canyon. It is the hub of life in the land and it is especially busy because it is only a week away from the Carnival of Time.
During the Carnival, Clock Town is at its busiest, with tourists from all over Termina coming to see musicians and artists perform. A grand staircase from South Clock Town to the Clock Tower is built; the Clock Tower opens only at the Eve of the Carnival with fireworks and partying following. It is custom at this time for a couple to exchange masks of marriage with each other and become united. That was the plan for Anju and Kafei. That is, until Kafei went missing a week before their wedding.
Kafei was son of the mayor so there immediately was an investigation set out. They made masks that resembled Kafei’s face and had his blue hair in order to question people about it. But there was no luck. To make matters worse, a strange moon suddenly appeared over Clock Town and within a few days the moon was closer to Termina and threatened to fall upon it.
All seemed lost when, with three days until the carnival, there appeared a boy in a green tunic with a fairy. The boy’s name was Link and he came from the distant land called Hyrule. It was his destiny to save this land from utter destruction. During his adventure, he noticed that in South Clock Town, a boy wearing a mask of a yellow fox suddenly appeared and dropped a letter in a postbox. When Link approached the boy, he vanished from him quickly. Thus began the tale of Anju and Kafei.

Anju awoke that day to the sound of the Cucco crowing. She rolled out of bed and got dressed into her white work shirt and long blue skirt. She walked over to the mirror and fixed her hair. It was a brownish-red and only came down to shoulders. ‘Only three more days left,’ she thought as she looked at herself in the mirror.
She turned towards her wedding dress but quickly looked away. She didn’t want to reflect on what could’ve been. She had to forget, to move on. The fact was he wasn’t coming back. He probably got nervous. Or fled because of the moon. Or ran off with…
Anju shoved that idea out of her mind as she walked out of her bedroom. It was almost opening time for the Stock Pot Inn where she worked. Anju and her mother ran the inn and took care of her grandmother who lived in the one of the rooms. She took her post behind the counter and waited for residents. She was expecting someone later this afternoon but she couldn’t remember his name. The morning drew on with little excitement. At 11 o’clock, Anju went into the kitchen to prepare lunch for her grandmother. Anju wasn’t a great cook but she was decient. Her grandmother, however could never be satisfied.
Anju walked into the room with the tray and her grandmother from her wheelchair said, “Oh ,Tortus, I already had lunch.”
Anju sighed and said, “Grandmother…I am Anju! Tortus was my dad and you haven’t had lunch yet.”
“I’ve already had lunch now quick, take that away.”
“Not eating is bad for you please take it.”
“Didn’t I say I already ate lunch, Tortus?!? Impossible child…”
Anju decided that she wouldn’t fight any longer. “Fine,” she said, “Then don’t eat my food. I give up.”
She turned to leave when she heard, “Whew…”
Anju turned around. “Whew?!” he said in disgust.
Her grandmother reacted quickly. “Er…W-w-whewwwould you like me to read you a story Tortus?”
Anju shook her head and walked out. Where her grandmother was getting the food for
energy to ridicule Anju’s cooking, she did not know. So she took the food up to her room and ate it instead. When she returned to the front desk, the postman was waiting for her. “Can I help you?” she asked.
The postman reached into his bag and pulled out a letter. “I have a letter for you.”
