((Warning for those with slower computers/laptops: There will be about 48 pictures here, so this may be a bit slow for you. Just wished to warn you before this thread begins. Also, for mods seeing this, if this is in the wrong place or so on, please let me know and/or move it where it needs to go, thanks in advance. And if what I'm doing is a goof, please also lemme know.))

Looking back with the full roster revealed, and the game out for Japan, I got to wondering exactly how big an improvement the characters have gotten since the last Smash Bros, and for the newcomers, how they've been changed/improved since their last/most referenced game. As such, I went and took the time to make an imgur album composed of pics showing how every character (barring Mii Fighter for obvious reasons) looked in Brawl, their last game, or whatever game was obvious inspiration for them, and comparing it to how they look in the new game.

I'll be using this thread, via two posts, to both post the album itself, as well as separate pics to browse as you wish. Hopefully this will show how things have changed since then on improvements, and other such things. And hopefully this doesn't go silly once done.

Note before this begins: I'll be going by way of how the full select screen is set, going through each row until done. Also, for a few of these I couldn't find true models, or they are ancient from their last game (in at least one case), so I used what I could to best get the job done. Either way, let's get going.

I still can't get over Ike's new design. He must have got a good workout from everyone spamming his f-smash.

And with that, that should be everyone, barring the obvious one. Hopefully it shows how everyone's changed/improved/ect. between Brawl and now, and also the same with newcomers.

I like them all better now with the exception of lucario and ROB.
Lucario looks a little too cartoony and is a....terrible shade of blue.
And ROB looks way cuter in brawl. Now he looks soul less. Which is sad.

Well, I guess they want Lucario to look more closely like in the games he's in.

And as for R.O.B., that's probably because he's a robotic toy basically come to life. Of course he looks that way. And honestly, that's fine by me.

I like the adjustments made to Ganondorf from Brawl to Smash 4. Neat to have his execution wound back as well as a more ragged cape. (and dat posing is smexy)

I also admit Ganondorf looks a lot better here. Hell, almost everyone here looks amazing compared before. This is why I made this thread: So those who weren't sure how big an improvement every character got, can see it for themselves right there.

This thread reminds me of how boring and souless characters looked in Brawl. Everything in Smash 4 is more expressive and colorful. Also, Marth no longer looks like a girl (HE DIDN'T LOOK LIKE THAT IN ANY FE GAME).

I noticed that details were down-sized or outright removed, most noticeable with Peach's and Zelda's dresses and the denim on Mario, Luigi, and Wario having lost all of its detail, as well as everyone's color schemes being a lot brighter. Not every character underwent this change (Ganondorf and Meta Knight underwent an opposite transformation), but it did well to clean up everyone's look.
