Smash Journeyman
-Preface-
Ever wanted to dance across Final Destination like Michael Jackson? Or maybe run backwards all over Smashville? Then the Simplified Moonwalk is for you. I'm not sure if this is a widely known technique (and if there is a thread on this already please link to it), but within my group of friends no one knew anything about it. Basically, what this technique does is let anybody with a little rhythm and a Gamecube Controller execute Moonwalks PERFECTLY 100% of the time.
-Input-
To start off you're gonna hold down the A button for as long as this technique is being performed, as it's the reason this works at all in the first place. Now you're gonna do the moonwalking motion as you normally would, but while you're in the initial dash animation flick the C-Stick forwards (that being the direction in which you're facing). This will cause you to perform another moonwalk instantly and without even moving your analog stick (which at this point should be facing the direction you intend to moonwalk). Repeatedly flick the C-Stick forwards to continue moonwalking.
Here's the input again using buttons instead (Facing Right):

-Timing-
The rhythm with which you flick the C-Stick will depend on your character, because the time during which you can do it depends on how long your character's dash animation is. For example, with Sonic you have the longest window with about 2/3s of a second (38 frames to be exact) to flick the C-Stick before you'll end your moonwalk and return to standing position. Doing it with someone with a shorter dash animation, Luigi, for instance would have less time at about 1/3 of a second (22 frames exactly). Someone like Mr. Game & Watch would give even less time at about 1/4 of a second (18 frames exactly).
