This post is inspired by the Youtube Video the Seven Deadly Sins of Online Gaming, plus I wanted to do this because there are alot that I've faced over playing smash 4. so let's get started

Lust - Grieving

In some cases of playing online in a 4 player match, and especially for conquest purposes, there will always be a person who targets the person with the lowest skill level to pull off an easy win. Sakurai did place a ban setting for this, yet some smashers found loopholes around it by simply hitting another person with a special and going back to targeting the person with the lowest skill level.

Ex. Alex, Bob, Jole, and Courtney are playing for fun mode in which case gives the highest conquest contribution points. Bob is Marth since Marth is on conquest he uses him, and sees that Courtney uses Jigglypuff. And it seems that she has a the lowest skill level and starts targeting her and only her. Bob also knows that he may get banned so Bob does Marth's Up-B to Alex, then continues to attack Courtney.

Gluttony - Item Snatching

This may be a tricky one to understand, so I'll try my best to help.

There are times in a match in which cases Item snatching is a pain.... especially in Team Smashes. your teammate hogs all of the items that could possibly help you in prevention of getting KO'd. and as a result, you're chances of getting KO'd by the opposing team are higher.

Ex. Trent is at 50% and Greg is 150%

a Heart Container lands. Trent picks it up.

Greed - Point Snatching

This sin goes hand in hand with the last one actually

We all know the goal of a free-for-all is to have the most points until the end of the 2 minutes. however there are times that a jack*** in variety would swoop into the fray and KO the person with the Highest Percentage making their odds of winning the match higher. This also goes for a team match especially the points where they KO both opponents including the one you have just faced and gotten to a high percentage.

Ex: Ray gets Drake up to 150% and tries to KO him. Luke then uses the Side-B as Little Mac to KO Drake out of no where.

Sloth - Camping

Everybody knows about this one so there's no need for a prime example. Camping is a legendary trait in the video game community, from COD to Smash Bros., to nearly everywhere. There is always that one person who just sits out in the blue waiting for the "Right Moment" or the other person who just does it to taunt.

YOU SHUT UP TOO, AND STOP CAMPING SO YOU CAN DO THAT ANNOYING ASS TAUNT!
-Ike to Kirby

Wrath - Beef Caking

Usually in 1-on-1 mode you have the advantages against the person you're going up against. They pull out all the stops with their best mains to put an end to your win streak against them. all goes well for the next round... until they decided to bring in a beef cake. now for people that don't know what beef caking is, it's a term me and my friends came up with. Beef Caking is when a continuous match-up going on between two fighters and one fighter is the one always coming out the victor, the next round comes up and there will be a common occasion an extremely hard hitting character is put into place for the next match and the most common three that come up, are Little Mac, Ganondorf and of course.... Ike. Now before I get a comment such as.. "You may never know, that could be a main" but more than likely Beef Caking is shown that the person you're facing shows less skill and strategy than before, especially when you see them using one certain move in an extremely common fashion.

Ex. Mable beats Zeke 3 times. the Next Match, Zeke is Little Mac

Envy - Win-n-Run

A Win-n-Run is another term me and my friends came up with. It's shown where a certain match is played where one player would come out the victor, lose one match, and the person they're fighting leaves instantly. this can also be worked around a different way where your skills are more complexed and better but you slip-up accidentally SD, and the player you're fighting leaves, with no exact chance of Redemption what-so-ever. this is an act of Envy due to the fact that people know you have the more superior skill and if they have a win against you, they'll take it and never see you again.

Ex. Bessy beats Jeffery in 5 matches but loses the next one. Jeffery leaves

and finally...

Pride - Tier Doubting

This is a very common and infamous act among the Smash Bros. Community. Everyone here knows what Tiers are, you will possibly be talked down or taken easy on because someone is using a character that ranks a higher tier than yours. you will have a 99 to 1 chance that you will be easily underestimated by your opponent in the same fashion as well.

Ex. I man Luigi and Luigi has always been in a Mid-Lower Tier then I go up against Zero Suit Samus who is higher than him.

I hope you enjoyed this and here is the Link to the video that inspired it:

This was such a funny read. And all of it is so true! I can't recount the amount of times I've been Beef Caked or had a Win n Run.

I didn't quite understand Pride - Tier Doubting though

thanks and

another example would be that you're doubted on the character you're using based on tiers like on Melee

:falcomelee: has a higher tier than:pichumelee: so you're more than doubted in a match if you use Pichu against a falco or anyone else since Pichu is the lowest in Melee
