I have a feeling that the reason they weren't revealed yet is because of the leak. Nintendo really takes things far if stuff gets leaked, and I think they're keeping those 3 a secret due to the leak.

I think that the leaky 3 will be revealed in E3 2014.
Perhaps the other half of the leak was meant to be for next year's biggest videogame convention.
Spring release, remember?
I feel like next year characters will be announced more frequently, including newcomers.

Was it ever uncovered just what manner the leaker saw these characters? Was it a trailer, a playable build of the game? Screen captures?

And yeah, Nintendo quickly swept up that whole spring release mess, they said it was a misquote.

You actually believe that?

*sigh* People these days will believe anything. I'm just gonna wait for the game to come out so this whole dumb "leak" business can finally be put to rest.

Chances are, even if they do end up int he game, it wouldn't be because of some prediction or leak, but because they chose to put them in due to popular demand.

Even though there isn't a popular demand for any of the three. Just very, very loud and forceful yelling.

It's coming out in spring. The system has been out for more than a year and it's sales figures are terrible. If you really think that Nintendo is going to wait another year before they put their system seller on the market for the sake of achieving higher sales (which they don't even have to because it sales regardless) during the holidays, you don't understand business.

What gives you the idea that this "leak" is 100% true? We've been over this a million times, PacMan, Little Mac and Mii AREN'T a legit leak and there's zero proof whatsoever that Nintendo was planning to include them in their E3 2013 showcase.

For f*cks sakes, give your head a shake.

Well they didn't do it for Cranky when he was announced for the Donkey Kong game at VGX.

You're right. But remember that this was by Amazon, a professional website, and this leak was by a random guy. Besides, they only had 1 more character to reveal, while Smash has 30+!

I'm getting tired of this "leaky 3" nonsense. Whoever claimed that those 6 characters could be in is either just lucky (out of the thousands of people that do predictions, someone has to be right) or had based his predictions off likely candidates. Animal Crossing is a popular series, Megaman is heavily requested, and Miss Fit is the face of a top-selling franchise. Besides that, the other 3 weren't even shown, and don't tell me they just "took them out." Every newcomer is supposed to get a video that showcases them, and I highly doubt they were going to show 6 different videos that day (one after the other).

Even if the rest of the predictions got in, it's because they were generally likely to be in anyway. Good predictions, but I doubt it's a leak.

While I don't believe the supposed leak, having one random person having all three of the newcommers announced on their list is pretty damn improbable, and even basing predictions off "likely candidates" does not make it less improbable, since that would also take an incredible amount of luck. And really, WFT was a likely candidate? Not at all, your reasoning for her being one is just hindsight bias talking. She was put in to throw people off, she wasn't at all a likely candidate.

If all the rest of the characters that were mentioned got in, then that is definitely a leak, it's really hard for someone to be that lucky, it's almost like getting all the numbers right in a lottery.

Now, like I said before, I don't believe this to be a leak, or a full prediction for that matter. I have not heard of this "leak" until after the announcement of E3, and I've seen no reason to believe it wasn't faked. Now, if someone is able to provide me with conclusive evidence that this leak was made before E3, then i'd be happy to reconsider my views on the matter.

The "Leaky 3" shouldn't be considered shoe-ins at all, but saying that the rumor holds absolutely no water is just as close-minded. It could have been a super lucky guess, but the odds of that remain so incredibly slim that as long as Little Mac, Pacman and Miis are still in the run, we shouldn't completely discredit the possibility. It's just silly to say that even if all 6 charaters are in the game, it would only be on account of that poster's great prediction skills.

Until then, there's really little about that rumor to analyze.

And comparable to the lottery, someone is still going to win. I agree Wii Fit Trainer isn't a likely prediction, but it's still one that can be made. We've gotten weirder characters before, so I don't see how no one could have randomly predicted her. As I've said too, Wii Fit is one of the highest-grossing games on the Wii, selling around twice as many copies as Brawl. Obviously it would get some kind of representation in Smash, so why not a character for ****s and giggles.

Also, the prediction came from a source that said they'd all be at E3. I don't see any reason why someone can't be randomly "half-correct" in their predictions. The reveals could have been Little Mac, Villager, and Pacman with them still guessing half the characters. If all the characters they listed were shown, then it'd indefinitely be a leak (or the luckiest goddamn guess on the planet).

Since you asked though, this topic contains links that explain the "leak."

interesting, now that I actually looked over the information, it's at least very curious and worth keeping an eye on. Just dismissing it as lucky at this point seems a little foolish. Now that I know the prediction was made before the fact makes it seem more credible to me.

I still think it being a leak is more probable than it being pure luck, but of course, it being just luck is not completely off the table. Of course, at this point arguing such a thing would be pointless, since until the game is released we will not know for sure. Though I would like to side with you since I am not particularly fond of the characters in this supposed leak.

I've given up on leaks. I've been fooled too many times for me to still give in to them. The only information I believe now is the information that Nintendo chooses to tell us.

As I've said countless time before, it's absolutely stupid to believe it's just a "lucky guess".
Only two outcomes:
-Leaker was telling the truth about Little Mac, Pac-Man, and Miis, but was wrong about them being shown at E3 (which could be either a mistake or Nintendo changed plans).
-Leaker was lying about Little Mac, Pac-Man, and Miis to cover up the real leak of Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Mega Man.

Well no **** they wouldn't be in the game because of the leak; that's not how leaks work.

No one could have predicted Wii Fit Trainer, and also the Villager. As if that wasn't enough evidence to prove the leaker was indeed legit, those two, along with Mega Man, were all revealed at E3 as the leaker said they would be.

Though Little Mac, Pac-man and the Miis were not shown at E3 as the leaker said they would be, so the leaker could've been PARTIALLY wrong. Or, as Golden mentioned, perhaps it was a cover up to avoid issues with Nintendo. Theres no way to tell which of these possibilies it was, but it must have been one of them. On a side note, there is no way to be certain if Pac-man, Miis or even Little Mac are in the game yet. ( Although, I'm still convinced Mac is a shoo-in at this point, seeing his extreme popularity by Nintendo fans and what with the boxing ring stage in the game and all, but that's just what I think. I suppose it's still disputable, but I digress)

Again, the leaker said Wii Fit Trainer would be in, and also that WFT would be revealed at E3 along with Villager (albeit, the name was incorrect in the leak.) and Mega Man. There is no way in all of hell that the leaker could not have been at least mostly legit.

And then there's the fact NO ONE wanted Wii fit Trainer when TONS wanted Little Mac.

so for those believers do you believe that nintendo would have already put characters aside for next e3.

Regardless of whether or not the leak holds any truth, if any of these three characters were to be announced, I'd expect 1) Pac-Man to be revealed at E3 2014 (as he is a third-party character), 2) the Mii to be revealed in either E3 2014 or a Nintendo Direct specifically entitled to Super Smash Brothers, and 3) Little Mac to be revealed at any point within the 2014 time-frame (on a pick-and-choose basis). I'd actually expect Little Mac to be announced the earliest of these three.

To sum it up-on the one hand, the evidence supporting this leak is that there was no way in which someone could possibly guess the Wii Fit Trainer along with the Villager and Mega Man. On the other hand, Little Mac, Miis and Pac-Man weren't revealed at E3 even though they were "supposed" to.

Reagrdless of whether this leak is legit or not, the latter 3 characters still all believable characters. Little Mac is a very popularly requested character and then there is that boxing stage. Miis are a huge part of Nintendo history, specifically Wii history. And as for Pac-Man, well...

It only makes sense that some characters were saved for a later reveal. I personally believe that leaker had some inside info and I wouldn't be surprised if the other 3 were held off because the reception to the first 3 was so great.
