... is so I can brag about my grand achievements within the competitive Smash scene!!!
...
I wish there was a sarcasm font. lol
Anyways, hello everyone! I'm Bay6, and here's a bit about myself.
I'll start with my mains, they are:
- Mr. BaconWatch
- Shriek
- Rosetta & Twink
- Captain Crunch
- Fax
- Marty-o
- No longer in the Meta Knight, and
- Mega Man, man.
Edit: Narrowed the list down a bit.
Close secondaries: (My skill with them is the same as the others, just the others do better overall
)
- Wii Trainer Fit (Just look at the acronym, instead of WFT it is...)
- Ness (Couldn't come up with anything, lol)
- Falco
The reason this list is long is because I am much more of a generalist than a specialist. I take some pride in my ability to play almost every character in the cast to a proficient degree. Of course I know my (potential) mains better than a proficient degree, lol.
The reason why this is so relates to my username, Bay6. (Basics) No matter what you do, the player with the better mechanics (or basics) will be the player with the edge. You can know all the combos in the world but if you're predictable you're going to struggle in anything competitive.
My experience:
- N64 - Not much.
- Melee - Hundreds of hours, but I never knew about advanced techniques like wavedashing and L-canceling until late last year, effectively rendering my almost all of my experience obselete.
- Brawl - Very experienced, but not the most fun because of the defensive meta and tripping. (Why Sakurai? Why? Tell me why?)
- Project M - Very fun, but not my forte. I just never spent any time playing it.
- Sm4sh (Wii U)- Love this version to death. In my opinion it's the best incarnation of the series thus far. I'm just sad to see Nintendo is taking some techs out.
I first saw Smashboards about a year ago, but only now am I getting serious and skilled enough to make an account and dive into the deep end of Smash. The guides and specific forums for characters and techs are supremely useful for everyone. Props to those who dedicate so much into making those guides and tutorials.
I'm starting to get into locals (tournament play), but I have never attended any thus far. Although some of my friends are local tournament players. Edit: (I live in Texas, now I know there's a large scene in almost every city! :o )
I'm actually highly interested in doubles play, although I don't play with anyone in particular. I like making thematic teams like Peach and Rosalina with matching colors, or the Mario Bros. or Sheik and Zelda, etc.
I have plenty of other interests outside the forums (and the mysterious world known to internet users as reality) and other forums, games, and sports, but I figured I'd end it here. Feel free to ask me anything!
Thanks for reading,
Bay6
