hi everyone my name is mike and i am a pikachu main. my goal in brawl, however, is to main samus aran. imo i believe she is the weakest character in this game. but my love for metroid and for samus makes me unable to resist her. i main her in melee and was the premier samus player in my state.

in this thread i will post videos of my friendlies over wifi and from tournaments alike.

rite now i only have 1 video atm, but will upload more occassionaly. enjoy.

Before I watched the vid, I was like... Okay... you have the weirdest name on all of SWF.

At first I thought, "WOW! Who gets hit by such an obvious Super Missile"
Then I thought, "DUDE! Zair, bomb, SMissile was amazing!"
Then I noticed, "DAYUM! That Wario sucks!"
Later I was like, "Wow! You suck also!"

To me, it looks like you guys are just going around using moves you liked.
"Oh, I feel like using utilt right now!"
"Really! Let me walk into it and see what happens!"

It looks like you do watch youtube vids and may have looked around the forums a little, but seriously. Get a better opponent. Learn how to combo for real. I didn't see a single missile cancel or screw attack out of shield. Your moves should've been easily avoided just by how poorly you were playing. Too bad your opponent was too dumb to even notice it.

As a final note, just because you "won" in a video doesn't make you good. You can lose and still perform well. The only thing I liked about the video was: 0:09-0:27.



Let me guess, you spam thunder, dsmash, and thunder jolt with Pikachu too. Hmm... if I say spam, it might sound offensive and you might deny it... Let me guess, you often put thunder, dsmash, and thunder jolt to good use.

Ahh... you're probably right. I just re-read what I wrote (I really have to start doing this more often before I click submit). I mean what I wrote though. I guess what I should've said was, "You have lots of room for improvement". Practice some more, learn the physics of her attacks, and you'll be fighting hand in hand with the rest of the community. Oh, and don't rely on replays - please.

aight listen up. super smsh brother brawl sucks for one. i thought i would show some love to the fellow samus players but it seems like theres no love here. I JUST STARTED PLAYING SAMUS! also if you were able to read what the video description says then you would know why the battle seemed a little whack..... it was on wifi...... besides how can you possibly tell how i play from watching one vid like that.... i do use screw attack alot for one.

another thing i dont lurk around smahboards at all. i havent been here in months seriously and i have absolutely no clue as to how SAMUS is SUPPOSE to be played. and when did i ever say i was good lmao. way to sound like a douche.

and as far as you trying to flame me about being a spammy pikachu....either face me online check my tournament records or stfu.

see the thing is these videos were just silly friendlies and not serious matches at all. they dont really porttray what do in more serious matches( i guess i shouldve said that). i just decided to post them here to kinda get the thread started for when i post better videos and from tournies and such. and i dont know why i seem cocky to you all lol, but i dont mean to be at all. either way i apologize.

Jab does indeed give you spacing but its easily punishable. The other options would be get more space by running rolling, or jab as you said. Upb OoS as mentioned before Nair, or a grab if applicable.

What is this all about then. Why do you post silly/friendly (you said that yourself) smacking around if it wasnt meant seriously and you dont want serious advice. Also your name doesnt ring any bell in my head of you beeing a good samus or a best in a state, if thats so id like to see some melee vids. But i get what you mean and probably you started this the wrong way, at least i think so.

I didnt see you switch up from simple fairs to upars to missiles and whatevet that ect ect is. Both fair and uair are risky choices against an opponent who is "prepared". they can be good for a quick comeback bot sometimes you gotta realize when you are on the shorter end and get some space to your enemy and clear things up. missiles also arent a good choice on enemies that are waiting for you on the edge. i do missiles too but in such scenario i tend to get distance more than aynthing else.

I mean you picked that matches on purpose just to show us how awesome your samus is and how good you are, you didnt expect a feedback in the first place didnt you? Usually it is people show videos how they have a hard time and ask for advice, get what i mean?
As for that pikachu comment you actually could care less about this because it doesnt have anything to do with your samus. Also Orly gave you constructive critism, maybe you missed it.

It doesn't. I live with a spamchu. My friends and I all hate his Pika with a passion. Imagine a Snake that uses their full effort into using only mortar slide, ftilt, and utilt. That's spamchu. Have you ever played a spamchu online? It makes you want to break your controller in half and throw your Wii at the TV. I watched Anther play, so I know Pikachu is more than just spam. However, every Pikachu not named Anther abuses Pikachu's ability to use dsmash, thunder, and thunder jolt to full power.



In any case. No hard feelings against ya. Though you DO remind me of some of those people who ask for criticism, then get angry about it. I see it everyday. Remember, you're the one asking us.

once again i apoligize.

i did not at all post these videos to show people how good i am cuz i honestly think i suck with samus. the only thing that really made me mad was the pikachu comments and i guess it kinda infuriated me and that anger kinda ran into everything else i was saying.

ok anyways i havent seen any samus videos from anyone ever before, but i wanna know how well most of you guys use morph ball for aeriel mindgames. and is it a good strategy to use them on the ground for defense. cuz for me it sesems to work.
