I keep seeing players try to K.O people off the left and right sides of the stage, but it looks sending them up is the shorter route. The rage thing looks fun though. When I played with my family I tried to land lots of hard hitting attacks, but after watching some competitive videos, I saw things like fireballs are useful. This should be a drastically different Smash experience, and I look forward to it.

(Also, the easy to reach damage levels make me think I can pull off a good Jigglypuff sing attack. )

It's cool, it rewards player who manage to live longer and mitigates the effect of VI.
Unless it occurs with stock disavantage too , which would be pretty stupid.
The only problem is that it makes knockback harder to predict
You get hit by bowser's fsmash, that's your fault.

Inb4 overzealous mod locks this.

It reminds me of the nonsense in Call of Duty like Dead Man's Hand, where you get killed and then blow up everyone around you. I'm not a fan of pity rewards in multiplayer games, but hopefully this will only be enough of a boost to make a losing player "feel good" and not actually turn the tables in a match.

Edit - Does stock lead affect this? The first time I read about the "rage mechanic" they said stock lead matters like it does for Lucario, though two videos I just watched didn't say. I can actually appreciate this if point lead isn't a factor and is damage-only.

Just a basic test, but the benefits you get at max rage (150%) only has roughly a 17-25% influence on landing a vertical KO on FD Battlefield. Which is offset and then some by vectoring, which roughly has a 30-42% influence on landing a vertical KO. I plan on doing more testing on this in the future, but the effects of even max rage can only really be considered a small buff at best.
