Link to original post: [drupal=2547]The position of smash 64 with the smashboards community[/drupal]
This blog is considering the Smashboards combo video competition, that does not allow n64 clips simply because its an old game.
I personally play all 3 games competitively, and I play brawl more often than any of the games. I have been playing Smash Bros competitive for the past 4 years, with brawl competitively since it came out, and smash 64 competitively. If you take this as an anti-brawl or anti-melee post, you will not get the point of this story.
I would like to bring up many points of reasons why many people dislike n64, and the community towards smash 64, and debate each of these points.
1. Smash 64 is easy to play, due to the 0 to deaths. It has way too much hitstun. In other words, it is easy to play and it is slower than melee and brawl. By looking only at Isai's videos, the game looks easy and subpar.
Answer: Yes, smash 64 has a lot of combos. There is very low DI out of ledge DI. There are also no air dodges as well. But this does not make the game competitive. I'm guessing if you think this makes the game non-competitive, then you have only have seen Isai's videos.
This blog will be finished as of later.
