Hi everyone,
I've been playing Project M and tweaking my personal build a lot over the past year. I always look for ideas in other people's builds, and they're great, but the music never hits home for me. So I would like to offer music packs for Project M stages, especially the ones that need music overhauls.
Remember, everyone has different taste in music. I personally do not like metal or electronic, so you won't find anything like that here. Instead the music is either straight from the source, an orchestration, or a cover/remix that I feel really does the song justice. Songs will match the stage series with a few special exceptions. All of the tracks here have either been created or volume adjusted by my girlfriend and me.
To replace your music, open your SD card and navigate to projectm > pf > sound > strm. Once there, just drop the files in. To change the titles in game, use the song editor found at http://www.lakora.us/brawl/songmanager/ and edit the song titles. Unforunately, that program will not edit them on the music menu. To do that, open 'info' found at projectm > pf > info2. Export 'miscdata[140]' Then open 'mu_menumain' found in projectm > pf > menu2 and replace 'miscdata[7]' with the other file.
Good listening!

Pack 1: Metal Cavern - Click here to download
I wanted this to be the first pack since the stage is currently legal. Though the Mario themed music doesn't clash, I also feel like it didn't do the stage enough justice. Since the music from Smash Bros 64 is limited and this stage isn't exactly series themed, I took a little liberty adding a few special songs. If the music is not from 64, it has a cave/underground theme.
Track 1 - Metal Mario (Super Smash Bros.)
This is unchanged from PM
Track 2 A16 - Duel Zone (Super Smash Bros.) composed by Hirokazu Ando
[with credit to TheUltimateKoopa as the original creator)
This is the track that plays on SSB64's Battlefield. I had it on Battlefield for a while, but realized it fit here better.
Track 3 A10 - Fuzzy Flood Mine (Super Mario 3D World) composed by Mahito Yokota, Toru Minegishi, Yasuaki Iwata, & Koji Kondo
[with credit to TheUltimateKoopa as the creator]
The track plays while being chased through a mine being flooded with Fuzzy. It keeps the energy up unlike Gritzy Desert.
Track 4* A02 - Cavern of the Metal Cap (Super Mario 64) composed by Koji Kondo
This is a special track we worked hard on. We start with Hazy Maze Mine where you go to hit the metal cap switch in Mario 64. In the middle, you will hear the familiar music of metal mario that returns to normal. This track is a little quiet, but we had the calm Forest of Hope in mind with this song. There's also a fun easter egg.
Track 5* A03 - Mining Melancholy (Donkey Kong Country 2) composed by David Wise / arranged by Burning Idol
This band really nailed this classic. The use of percussion really shines through. One of the special exceptions I mentioned earlier. They have 2 other songs on youtube worth listening to.
Track 6* - Underground (Super Mario Land)
This is unchanged from Brawl. Call it nostalgia, but I really enjoy this song.
BONUS! - The Lost Woods (Nintendo Land) Composed by Koji Konda / arranged by Hajime Wakai & Ryo Nagamatsu
Remember the first time you learned that you could load alternate songs in Melee? I played this theme constantly on Great Bay, but now I have a newer arrangement for you. I put mine on Hyrule Castle, but you can put yours anywhere.
