Yup. I thought that was pretty cool. Apparently Mario was based off some 80's Japanese Show.

that was just the mario bros 2 game in america. they just redid the game with mario sprites.

I happpen to be an anti-Mario games activist too. I was plotting with my fellow Koopa's and Bow-wows how to get rid of Mario once and for all when I decided to learn about my enemies past. I thought this information would help the other activist's out there.
