They need an online lobby that matches you up with only one other player. It's your and your CPU-controlled Ammibo (that levels up and can be customized) vs. the other player and his CPU-controller Ammibo. And doing this makes your Ammibo teammate better and gives you more options to customize his moveset (Yes, custom moves would be allowed in thie lobby, but only for the CPU-controlled Amiibos). It would be almost like having party members in an RPG.

Leveling up your little buddy sounds like a ton of fun to me. If you use the same one consistently (which I would, because I don't wanna spend more than $15), you'd grow an attachment to it like you do to your Pikmin.

So Olimar amiibo = forming an attachment to your Pikmin?

I would be completely okay if we could even just do Amiibo v Amiibo fights online. It'd be like Smash Pokemon!

Ha. Well, I don't wanna just watch, I wanna participate too.
And that's why they implement both modes, hopefully! Also, I *really* hope that Amiibo can learn from other Amiibo (and, by extension, what other Amiibo have learned) as opposed to just learning from real people.

on that note i hope amiibo's learning ability isn't just a special, fluffed up way of saying the AI isn't horrible

That would be a really cool idea it would encourage people to buy amiibos.I hope they do something like this.

I am not too certain about whether or not Nintendo could do anything to incite my purchase of an Amiibo; I do hate on-disc DLC, and the limited features that were already revealed are not enough for me personally. I am going to purchase one figure to; at the very least, try it and ensure that my presumptions are indeed correct. After that I will see where it goes from there.

This alone is why I'd like to get one, I liked playing games and having my own personal skill improve but what makes me play other games like TTT2 is the way you unlock customization items the more you fight as a specific character and equiping such items would often let people know that you're no stranger to fighting as that particular character.

Also, it would be cool if they had something similar to Adventure mode/Smash run that allows you to explore and fight enemies for additional EXP, bonuses, items, etc.

Exactly what I'm doing as well even if the amiibos suck I will still keep my favourite character.

If nothing else, I'm getting a Pac-Man or Chorus Kids one, depending on who's sillier. Probably DeDeDe, too.

We could have a game mode where we put our ammoibos against other ones in 1v1 to see who will win, we could bet coins on it.
