This thread is for people who want to go out on a limb and say that Brawl doesn't need third party characters to make it great! Third-party lovers are welcome as well, we love a good DE-BATE!
Everyone with half a brain knows 3rd party characters aren't "needed" Tell me, what is wrong with 3rd party characters showing up as "guest" characters in Brawl? People really need to get there heads out of their *** and stop being such "Nintendo character only purist".

There is nothing to debate about really.

I don't care, honestly. I'm not going to detest it. Snake looks so f-cking awesome in Brawl, so it's perfectly fine with me.

See, what I thought at the beginning was, "Oh, this game's going to be subpar and the third-party useages are going to make up for it" Now that I see the jampacked items, stages and FREAKIN RED, Third Party characters aren't needed, and besides, I'm sick and tired of the recent stupid character predictions! (Say anything about my Jack Sparrow suggestion and I'll kill you)

Zac Efron has a better chance of getting into Brawl than the removal of ALL 3rd party characters

The third party characters are in and there's nothing you can do about it... sorry.

However, I guess you can hope that Snake will be the only 3rd party character in the game... Wouldn't hold that hope too high though.

High School Musical is scientifically proven to be a new strand of the Bubonic Plauge. It spread everywhere, infecting television, film and even *gasp!* videogames

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

But seriously, even if Bralw would be awesome even if it only had Nintendo charaters, thrid party characters make the game even better. I think we can all agree on that.

I dunno. while this game doesn't NEED 3rd parties, I still feel that megaman just has to be in this game. he's been my most wanted character even before melee came out, and with the inclusion of snake, its no better time to bring him out now. while I wont not buy this game without megaman, I'll still feel like it was a largely missed oppertunity, and a large part of what made me anticipate brawl so much will be gone.

but my rockman fanboyism aside, snake's already in, and there's most definetely going to be more 3rd parties.

Third-party characters don't make any difference to the game. They aren't treated any differently from the other characters. They don't make it any better or worse, so it's just a matter of whether you like the specific characters or not.

There's a 0.00% chance of that happening.

Thank god.
What if Bungie went up to Nintendo and asked...Do you think they will say no?

Everyone seems to use the stupid money response when saying a character shouldn't get in... (Of, this character wouldn't give the company as much money as this character even though that character is popular, this one is better known by non-gamers who will most likely buy the game)

Nintendo would say no. Besides, Bungie is 2nd party to Microsoft now, who are kinda sorta competing with Nintendo at the moment.
nah i don't think Sajurai would or Nintendo would. Still I don't think Bungie ever would ask (the microsoft thing). But really who cares about third party. I don't what characters are in the game as long as the make Brawl a more enriching experience. Even characters like Mega Man and Sonic can fit in the game without screwing everything up because Smash is faultless formula that could fit any character from any game and still amke it comical, cool, and fun.

Only 3rd party characters that are good enough to be in Brawl should be.

In my opinion those would be...

Snake
Geno: Don't know why he's special but enough people rant about him so I figure why not?
Megaman

Sonic: Me and my friends would argue which one was better (sonic or mario) over ten years ago, and even made some mock drawings of them fighting, having them fight in Brawl would be just plain awesome.

Bomberman: he's been in enough games that I would like to see him make at least a Cameo on brawl

3rd party characters should make their own game like that one with snake and bomberman so no one could complain about what characters are in or not

It's funny because I just remembered that I heard something of a "Halo DS", and apparently it was going to happen but was canceled.

So... yeah, imagine if that would have happened... Nobody could have gone around saying "Master Chief has a 0% chance of being in Brawl!"

Of course, I have little reason to believe that even if the game would have been released that it would have given Master Chief a chance of being in Brawl. That would just be a bad move, as the primary Halo games on an opposing console of Brawl.

Last people that asked for Master Chief in their game got some other spartan instead though

Having 3rd party characters is beneficial to both parties. A wider fan audience will become interested in the game (yes, I know some people who fully decided to buy a Wii when Snake was announced), and having the character in a successful game will build a better relationship between the third party and Nintendo. Seriously, Kojima actully said that he was interested in developing for the Wii, a new franchise or something. Sakurai allowing Snake in Brawl could have facilitated that interest...

After Nintendo's troubles in the past (N64 and Cube) concerning interested 3rd parties, one would think that everyone would be happy that Nintendo is helping build a better relationship with other companies, to be more successful, through Brawl...

While I love all of Nintendo's characters (although I do want to throttle Pokey Minch until he doesn't move ever again), I would be remiss if I didn't say that a great deal of my gaming history was spent playing games like MegaMan, Sonic the Hedgehog (once the series hit the 'Cube), Dragon's Lair, Pitfall, Lemmings, Tetris, Resident Evil, Harvest Moon, and so on and so on.

As such, at this point in Smash Brothers, I think it's great that they're finally bringing in some surprises from other companies, especially companies that have really been a huge part of Nintendo's history and success so far. Capcom, Sega, Konami, Hudson, Namco, Midway and so on, but let's not forget the smaller companies like Natsume, Atlus, etc.

I think it's great to see everyone showing up, and it's also a very nice gesture on Nintendo's part to welcome all the other companies into the spotlight and recognition that Smash Brothers typically garners. It's a nice way of saying, "This is the Wii, and all are welcome."
