Where do you think i live?
W ho thinks Ivysaur will be a good character, when i saw him the first time i was saying me that this was a stupid idea, but i thinked about it, and i think he will be good. He is a brand-new addition to smash : Four legs character, first going directly up special attack, and others reasons for him being good!

Support him!

I don't know how long this thread's gonna last, but I'll give my two cents: Ivysaur is a very revolutionary character, as you said...first quadrapedal character, first neutral-b that's vertical, a very unique addition...I still think Sakurai was smoking something when he thought of PT, but the way I see it, it helps my buddy Lucario out...if a PT can get in, and since 4th gen PKMN are confirmed, it's almost certain that Lucario's in (not 100%, I never say something's 100%)

yeah ivysaur probably grabs ledges wih his vines, considering at the top of this thread there is a pic of ivysaur grabbing the ledge with his vines.
I had a feeling, but how would it HOLD an edge? Dangling to edgehog seems a little weird, doesn't it? I know it could probably use its front legs...it isn't impossible...

It'll probably bite the ledge or use its vines. Maybe that's why they decided to include a quadreped; this one has fake hands. I think Ivysaur will be the most unique character in Brawl.

It'd probably be like using Links grappling hook, you kinda grab on and fling up...

Anyways, Ivysaur might do well. I bet one of the pokemon will end up being the best and used the most (yes, I'm aware of the NEED to switch because they get worn out)

Didn't think of biting *face palm* duh!! I can see that working, and yes, it is gonna be the most unique character in Brawl!

I think I'll enjoy playing as Ivysaur, as long as you don't have to keep switching back and forth to much.

Bulbasaur was my very first pokemon I chose in my Red version, so Ivysuar brings back those memories.

Ivysaur can still use its vines to grab onto a ledge without having to dangle like the hookshot or grapple beam made others dangle. They can act like a pair of arms, and when it grabs it can bite or use CUT.

If he can manage to send his opponents far enough upwards, he'll be able to juggle the **** out of them with
BS (Teehee) his lack of a good U-B disappoints me though... and it doesn't look like he has many killing moves...

Also, I'm wondering if PT will be able to switch between pokemon mid-air, in which case you could always
jump from ivysaur to squirtle (or zard if his U-B is any good), recover, switch back, and attack or something :/

No, Ivysaur in that sprite may have ben able to stand on it's hind legs maybe to chill or roar but I remember a pokedex entry saying that the bulb was to heavy for him to stay on his hind legs to long. Ivysaur might stand on his hinds for a taunt or such but surely not to move and probably attack.

I think you're forgetting you can't use any attacks after a B-Up.

If someone has allready established this I apologize XD but watch Ivysaur's Final Smash (that is of course each of PT's pokemon has a Final smash) be either Solarbeam or Frenzyplant ( YAY FOR MOTHER NATURE!!!)

off topic: quick question...I kno Sakurai said that ppl can only perfom an FS only once after colecting a smashball.....but surely he didnt say they cant perform it again after obtaining another one..nor did he say that only one SB would apper in each battle...can someone answer this or is there a thread about this somwhere????

Regardless of what buttons you press or where it comes from, they're both still vertical attacks.
Pika's hits all around while Ivy's only hits vertically (as far as I can tell.) I wonder if you can possition the flower to bullet seed in another direction, that would be nifty...did I just say "nifty"? either way it's a great attack seeing as this game focuses on airial combat.
