Have we lost touch with out Linking roots? Or did we never care?
Young Link, the starter hero in the two games Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, is to be replaced?
The two latest console outings for Link have given the green tunic clad kid quite a makeover. Are these new renditions still viewed as 3D renditions of the young boy from the popular sprite based games? Or did the inclusion of time travel and a more grown up Link, included in Ocarina of Time, provide something that fans wanted more, while the cel shaded bouncy animation of Wind Waker gave the rest their Disney-esk fill?
We don't even know if the cel shaded version of Link from Wind Waker will make the cut for Brawl, but we do seem to have less and less intrest in the outings of the young boy and more of the adult swordsman.
And without a partial makeover with or new move set. We'll be seeing the cartoon Wind Waker or none at all.
So unless I'm seriously wrong, shall we see the nippy boy from the past off with a "Hear Hear!" and fond memories.
I shall keep my copy of Melee nearby to play you again Young Link.
