Some of you are thinking, "What the heck is crystalis?"
If you wish to read the wikipedia for Crystalis (Provides a decent explanation)
http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystalis
One of the greatest and most underrated games on the NES, Crystalis was a game very similar in gameplay to the original Zelda game; however, in terms of gameplay, it improved on almost every aspect of gameplay Zelda was weak on. For instance, the range of movement was more comfortable because of diagonal movement, combat was much more challenging (and prevalent), and bosses were actually hard. In addition, the storyline was much more complex.
Originally an SNK owned character/game, Crystalis was bought by Nintendo in 2000, where they eventually warped the storyline a bit and actually named the formerly unnamed main Character.
His name is Simea
Story Cap:
He and his counterpart Mesia are scientists who designed a floating tower with some of the most destructive weapon systems. Both were cryogenically frozen (for 100 years) until the tower would become active. During these 100 years, a nuclear war happened, and the emperor draygonia took over the world with the Tower, the last remaining technological device on earth.
(The guy on the right)
Basically, Crystalis is a (big surprise) Sword + shield user. However, throughout the game, he acquires four different elemental swords:
Wind,
Fire,
Water,
and Thunder
The elemental swords have a system of timed charges. There are three levels of charged attack, although each weapon has a unique set of attacks.
In addition, he learns magical spells not related to the swords at all, such as paralysis and teleportation.
I'll post a moveset soon.
Why does Simea deserve a spot in Brawl?
Despite his having a sword, which is common among Smash characters, he brings a lot to the table. Simea represents one of the most acclaimed games on the NES system; it ranked 7th greatest of all time only a month after its release, and ranked #115 on the Nintendo Power "Top 200 Nintendo games of all time". There's a REASON Nintendo bought the rights for the game.
In addition to bringing another game to the table (a concept which throwing in 2-3 more fire emblem characters does NOT), his multiple elemental swords makes for a rather interesting moveset. Sakurai seems to like adding some "variable characters" to Smash (See: Pokemon Trainer; Olimar + Pikmin). Such a way to do this could be a similar idea to Pokemon trainer that requires Simea to change between swords with his DownB, affecting his B-moveset to suit the specific elemental sword, but leaves the regular moveset unaffected.
I have several movesets in mind, but im too tired to post them. I'll post one here soon though.
Like I said, if you don't know what Crystalis is/wish to learn more about the game, visit this site: http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystalis
