Marthsword's Introduction: Hello all. This thread was originally made by Razed. It was his idea, and he did the first part and most of it. He had every character done except the bottom and low tier. A few members volunteered to write up a brief overview of their character in Razed' format. Then I came in; I wrote up overviews of almost all of the bottom and low tier. Check section 4 for contributers. More contributers are greatly appreciated and will be given credit.

Razed asked me to make this new topic and let the other thread die since he will be gone (I think:p ) From now on I will be organizing this thread. 1. Introduction -

Razed' Introduction: Having trouble choosing your main? If you're not sure which character suites you best, then this guide will hopefully help you choose. It won't tell you everything, because only you know who you're good with and who you are completely terrible with, but it may lead you in the right direction. I didn't include the lower tiers because if you chose one of them, it's probably just based on how much you like the character. Enjoy!

My Comments: Awesome character with sweet aerials! Hit them with a knee (fair) at a fairly high percent and they're done! All physical, good edgehog. He takes a lot of tech skill, a good example of why is mastering his Nair.

My Comments: Awesome Wavedash, Awesome Dsmash. DeSynching is evil and hard to do but awesome! They can chaingrab well too =) they have an infinite grab! No way to be escaped if done correctly. Also called "wobbling" after an amazing smasher named wobbles.

My Comments: Basically a version of Doc, with a little better recovery, and no consistent KO move. He can also combo better than Doc. His performance depends completely on the players skill (as does anyone [Cept shiek =P], but tech skill is very important for mario)

My Comments: Slow, but packs a punch! you can get roughly 100+ damage with as little as 5-6 attacks! All aerial + Wall of Pain. If you can't shuffle or just don't like to, don't pick Ganon.

My Comments: Link can either be a Tank or a Spammer. He needs a very skilled player to use him though. Not for beginners. He has a mean projectile game, and has sick combos if he gets going. He is easy to combo on though.

Comments: DK relies heavily on the same combos and moves. His grabgame and Cargo > Uair game are huge. He combos fast fallers incredibly well, especially Fox. Whenever you have a chance, charge his neutral B.

Comments: Yoshi has great combos with his egg > uair game. He doubles in weight during his double jump, and his double jump is the fastest ledgegrab in the game, because he goes down before up. He has a disadvantage that his shield cannot be JC’ led. He has an amazing CC game.

Comments: Zelda is slow, but her attacks come out surprisingly fast and have very little lag, but her attacks stay out a long time, so they're still slow. She also recovers from stun quicky.

Wavedash: Average, but takes 9 frames till you can airdoge, (that’s a lot)

Killing Moves: Everything!
Jumping: Below Average

Comments: Bowser has an AMAZING Up B. It has 4 invincibility frames, can be substituted for his dodge, comes out in 5 frames, high priority, and high damage, and a ledgegrab.

I know it seems weird to include his ledge attack, but it has an amazing hitbox, and can be to set up for edgeguarding and has invincibility.

Luigi

Luigi--- By: Marthsword
Run speed: Slow, but doesn’t matter
Wavedash: 1st. Luigi doesn’t need to run. With WDing he is the fastest in the game
General Attack Speed: Average
Combo potential: Good
Attack range: A little above average
Meteor Smash: dair, d tilt
Best moves: Fair, Nair, Dair, D smash, U tilt

Jumping: Very good

Comments: It can be hard to get used to Luigi because of his floatiness. Luigi has great tech chasing and speed with his Wavedash. He can run circles around opponents. What makes him in his tier position is his poor matchups with high tier characters. He would have a good recovery, but his up B sweetspot ruins it, the foe can edgehog.

KIRBY

Kirby--- By: Marthsword

Comments: Kirby focuses around his aerial games a lot, that is where most of his combos come from. He has a ton of jumps, giving him good aerial maneuverability. He can suicide with swallow, b throw, or f throw, this is called ‘kirbycide.’ Kirby has a strat called “Fence of Pain” with his bair.

ROY

Roy--- By: Marthsword

Pikachu’s Uair is a semi spike, and can spike an opponent off the edge by sending them behind. If you time if right, you can send them up, send them behind you, or send them in front of you.[/quote]

Comments: Mewtwo combos better fastfallers, but unfortunately, Mewtwo is really light and a huge target. In addition, he has terrible matchups against many characters and therefore, usually loses most of his games.

Comments: People are turned off because he hurts himself, however, most his best moves don’t. Pichu has especially good combos on fast fallers (uair) and good edgeguarding (TJ, f tilt, f smash.) Many people aren’t used to fighting a good pichu, so won’t know what to do, or how to DI your attacks like F smash. Also, Don’t forget to taunt@ Pichu can taunt cancel by holding shield during the taunt animation. This allows you to SHFFL, WD etc, out of a taunt.[/quote]

who made that bowser one lol play bowser offensively and get ***** to no end, bowser's up b doesn't come out in 3 frames it hits on frame 5 and it is invincible for the first 4 frames. the ledge attack is there because its completly invincible, can be used for setting up edgeguards, has absolutely ridiculous range, and is generally fairly safe thanks to the recoil. if you are going to include neutral in bowser's best moves you might as well put every move bowser has on there except for down air firebreath and down b lol

Whoever said someone other than Falcon is worth maining should stop posting. XD

IMO the guide needs a little section for what you hope to accomplish.

Frustrate your opponents, combo well, long range, speed, etc....

I think Wobbling is when you are IC's and Grab -> Jab -> Ftilt..
They can't get out of it, and can be seen as 'cheap'

Not 100% sure on that though, don't play IC's much myself.

This seems more like a character guide in the sense of its qualities than a choose your main guide. It tells you what the characters aspects and all...but I mean it doesn't exactly help in really CHOOSING a character. My brother could look through that guide all day and still not find something that makes him say "Wow I should main him!!!". I can't explain things well, but I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
