I know that the Neutral Game is the state of the game in which both characters have similar positions and advantage. But I think that this concept is to vague to define concretely the Neutral Game. I want to know if someone can explain me more about this phase of the game. I want to know the different states that are involved in the Neutral Game (Approaching, Zoning, etc) and I also want to know how to decide if a player has a good/bad Neutral Game and how to fix it.

This is a very good video about this (Smash Theory: The Neutral)

My main goal is to understand how to get better at the neutral Game. I think that this depends on each character, but maybe something general it can be said. Also how to recognize good and bad neutral game on a specific battle.

If you're looking to figure out your neutral game (for your character), I think your best bet is to make a post in the character forums.

But, in general (the way I've always understood it) was that the "Neutral Game" was when both players are trying to make a way in, or trying to get something going: basically neither person having a clear advantage.

The neutral is a lot of spacing and zoning until someone makes a successful approach and puts the match in their favor.
