...the more I fear he might be the new Marth. He's got greater aerial mobility than Marth ever had, he's fast, he seems to have good knockback for his hits, he can practically fly...it seems like the only things Marth would have over him are the unique properties and length of his weapon. For all we know Meta Knight's blade could have similar abilities, and it seems that his speed can make up for his short range in the hands of a skilled player.

True, but Metaknight's probably going to weigh as much as Kirby. Also, a demo is only a demo. They might make some more tweaks before release.

I have a feeling MK will weigh more than Kirby, yet still be floaty, just like Samus. He's got the sword, the cape, the pauldrons, the greaves and that crest thing on top of the cape; all that has to contribute some weight.

Like you, i see metaknight rising above the rest of the cast on the demo. It seems that he and bowser are the tuff guys.

This person could not be more correct. I almost mistook it for an AI demo when I first saw them.
Meta Knight is going to be a scrub character, he'll be easy to learn but end up being high middle-tier. He seems like he'll have a bad air game despite his flying and projectiles or hitting him in the back completely own him. Also, he's really light.
