Something I've noticed in the reactions of some to my thread/blog posts/etc. is that they tend to focus overly on the vocal aspect of MetamindgameSpam and pay less attention to the nonvocal aspects of it.

Here's the thing. Being a MetamindgameSpammer is like being a Jedi. Sure, the Jedi has this cool lightsaber slashy thing, but he'll totally behead himself without also learning the Force as well as Form Zero.

For those of you who aren't Starwars Nerds (I'm not, I just played KOTOR 2 and now I know everything), there are multiple forms of lightsaber combat, each with a different emphasis. Before learning any of them, one must learn Form One, which is the basics.

Before Form One, one must learn Form Zero, which focuses not on hitting things with the lightsaber, but rather on when it is necessary to use the lightsaber or not.

Just because MetamindgameSpam in its most dynamic and exciting form tends to feature lots of talking doesn't mean that you should ignore the basics, and the foundations of the basics.

This is hard to do, but one way to get back to the core of MMGS would be to try to MMGS for an entire match without saying a word.

And here's the thing: If your opponent realizes that they have been MetamindgameSpammed WITHOUT you saying anything, then you know how powerful your MMGSing really is.

Oh, and if you spend half the match talking, then suddenly lapse into silence, that's also a pretty good Metamindgame.

Actions speak louder than words. To truly be a MMGS Master, Form Zero has to be mastered fully. Indeed, it is the preferred form for the true masters at top levels of MMGS usage. Two MMGS masters will battle as long as necessary without speaking a word. The winner is the one who is able to MMG the other first. There are no KOs; it is a 1 stock match, and the loser will be MMG'd into an SD. A learner may only proceed to the vocal forms of MMGS once they can achieve success with the silent form.

Of course, the higher forms are preferred greatly when one does not face another master. Thus, they are more useful, but also more dangerous. The uncautious user of a vocal form may find him- or herself distracted, and may actually succeed in the self-mindgame, thereby killing themself. One does not use the Form Zero on non-MMGS users because the MMGS users are an honorable bunch. They make their opponents aware of how fully they are being mindgamed.

Also, I suddenly feel like turning beam swords on high.

dude, we need to make some sort of MetamindgameSpam Academy, or possibly a MetamindgameSpam Boot Camp.

One of us could teach Theory and the other could teach Practice. Grade term papers. That kind of thing.
