Tsareena Support Thread

Generation 7, being set in the Pokemon equivalent of Hawaii, has a wide array of unusual and unique Pokemon, just about any of which could be a contender for Smash Bros. One such Pokemon is the Fruit Pokemon, Tsareena.

What is Tsareena?
Tsareena is the final evolution of the Bounsweet line, evolving from Steenee after it learns Stomp. Tsareena is a Pure Grass Type Pokemon that specialises in Physical attacks, a rarity for the mostly special oriented type. She (100% female species) protects the vulnerable Bounsweet with her battle prowess but also harbours a sadistic side, laughing as she kicks downed opponents.

Why Tsareena?

Tsareena is an interesting Pokemon that packs a lot of moveset potential, mixing high powered kick attacks with strong grass attacks. She also has ranged attacks like Razor Leaf and Power Whip and tricky status moves like Aromatherapy and Captivate.

Moveset potential

While she looks like she'd be a glass cannon, Tsareena- like most Alola Pokemon- is actually quite slow, preferring to tank a hit and strike back harder. With this in mind, her moveset would be based around predicting what the opponent will do and punishing their mistakes.
Tsareena has a wide variety of moves outside of the usual grass type purview. First and foremost are the kick attack which include, Stomp (Move it needs to evolve), Hi-Jump Kick (a possible high risk recovery) and it's signature move Trop Kick. All this leg power isn't to say her arms are useless as she's also packing Double Slap for a close range option and Power Whip for extra range.

If push comes to shove, she could be a Zero Suit Samus or Bayonetta Echo but I think that's wasted potential. (not to mention a stretch given they both have guns)

Isn't she a bit... questionable?

I actually have Tsareena in my party in Pokemon Ultra Moon. I thought she would be kinda bad, but I was proven wrong. I support!

In good notability news, in the Pokemon Anime Mallow's Steenee evolved into Tsareena.

Queen Tsareena was incredibly useful for my Moon playthrough. Trop Kick and Queenly Majesty dealt with quite a lot of the Elite 4 Pokemon.

Trop Kick works pretty much just like in the Pokemon games where it lowers the opponents dealt damage for a while, Attract could have her create a heart projectile that stuns, Covet could have her steal the opponents held item, and Hi Jump Kick could be her recovery where it damages her if she lands on-stage with it but would be her most reliable kill move. Naturally her down throw will need to be the heel grind move she's doing in the image just above this post.

There's a lot of controversy going about with the amorphous blob that is leaks saying that the Gen 7 Pokemon will not be Mimikyu, Lycanroc or Decidueye.

Maybe they'll go for a different kind of grass type this time.

I'd be for Tsareena One of my faves in sun and moon.

Just a note, I dont think she's really a 'domineering' pokemon, just kind of righteous, I guess.

This is even said in the wiki: "This Pokémon has a high-class nature, and punishes anyone that approaches it with evil in mind " (and even goes against commands it dislikes)
It's a pretty interesting pokemon.

With any luck Tsareena might be one of the post-pass DLC even though it`s quite unlikely. But then again you never know.

Tsareena surived Dexit so she's got that going for her. Let's see how things develop from here.

I keep hope for Tsareena but I believe Cinderace would make almost me equally happy at this point.

God I wish Tsareena would get into Smash, as highly unlikely as that would be (even Geno has a higher chance of being added as a playable character, and that's definitely not happening any time in the near future). She's my number one favorite Pokemon, and I just know her moveset would be fun and creative. A guy can dream. At least she's in Mugen with a good moveset. I've had fun playing as her in that game. Please add me to the support list.
