Other news of fame
that takes a long time
from the light of expression
and through the day down from the tree

Another reputation builds
a long wait for them
and to play out of clay
and through the child theater

See the expression of the brother and trouble them
See the expression of the brother and bring pain to them

Failure turns into courage
From courage comes a soldier

That soldier shall strike with power!!

He pursues higher, and higher

"Oh, they are mine now!"

"Who are you to fight through my 3 lives from which I have gained?"

"From the greatness of the theater"

"Go now and give!"

"I surrender my 3 lives to my brothers!"

Marth's taunt: "Minna, miteite kure!"
"Everyone, look at me!"

Marth's Victory's: "Boku wa makeru wake-ni wa ikanainda!"
"There's no way I can lose."

"Konkai wa boku no kachi da ne?"
"Doesn't it seem I am the victor?"

"Kyou mo ikinobiru koto ga dekita."
"Today, I have survived."

Roy's victory: "For those that I must protect, I cannot lose!"

These are the original Latin lyrics:

Alii fama (0:09 - 0:12)

id diu (0:12 - 0:15)

solisque os is ibi (0:16 - 0:1

et per dies de (f)agi (0:18 - 0:22)

Alifama (0:22 - 0:25)

id diu (0:25 - 0:2

et ludi cretae (0:28 - 0:31)

et per theatralis puer (0:31 - 0:34)

oner frater vidi os (0:35 - 0:41)

oni frater vidi os (0:41 - 0:47)

deesse fortibus (0:47 - 0:50)

viri forte (0:50 - 0:54)

laedo convivos vige (0:50 - 0:57)
volde vige (0:57 - 1:04)

Ascendit a! (1:04 - 1:10)

Ascendit is (1:10 - 1:13)

oh gi sunt mi (1:13 - 1:16)

Qui alii fer tres (1:17 - 1:20)
vivo lis que a (1:21 - 1:25)

theatris a tanto (1:27 - 1:29)

coeo iam do (1:29 - 1:32)

tres mendo fratri! (1:32 - 1:39)

(the () around the f in (f)agi is because the censor won't let you type that for obvious reasons.

Lol, is it talking about team battle here? Oh! Just confirmed, you can still share lives in team battle, you heard it from me first. Btw did someone who speaks latin translate this? Or did sakurai have it posted?

I was going to make a seprate topic for this, but this looks like a good place to post this.
In the ice climbers theme in Brawl, what are those voices saying in the beginning? (Is it safe to assume that theyre Nana and Popo)?

The Ice Climber Lyrics(Or very close to them):

"Hey guys! It's Ice Climber! Well, I'll show you how to move. Get rhythm with your friends, and rock the iceberg!"

It's technically a Latin 'Cantata'.

So you're right, it's not exactly Opera.

Also, as for this english translation that's been floating around. I don't think it's 100% correct.

Myself and a friend started attempting to re-translate an alternate english version but didn't get very far. This is what we got:

Alii Fama: / Some rumors say:
Id Diu / This long wait
Solisque os is ibi / Faces lit by sunlight
et per dies de magis/ And those of greater days
Alii Fama:/ Some rumors say:
Id Diu/ This long wait
Et ludi cretae/ And actor-statues
Et Per Theatres Puer../ And of the young one's theatre...
...Oner Fratre Vidi Os/ ...See trouble on their brothers' face.
Oner id Fratre Vidi Os/ See trouble that is on their brothers' face.
Deesse Fortibus/ To fail and become bolder
Viri Forte!/ Is the strength of a man!
Laedo Convivos Vige../ Strike to overcome with vigor

^ the VERY best pseudo-translation there is! This made me cry with laughter a long time ago when it was first posted. The other ones mentioned in this thread made me laugh just as hard. It's great to hear/read different translations.

That sounds much better. I don't know much latin, but some of those words I do know and you got them right. In Latin that's sung though, it doesn't always make perfect sense, they use different pronunciations and words.
