For weeks and months, we have been talking about the "Latin American community effort major", and we have given you lots of info so you know who to cheer for and place your bets on.

Way earlier this year, Astra promoted the idea of the "#RoadToAstra" tournament series, where players would compete for a spot in Astra, and we covered tournaments like the Panamanian No Limits, and the Venezuelan The Controller, Dragon Ascent, and Tournament Mode. In those tournaments, you got to meet some of the players that will be attending to Astra tomorrow.

Astra also had a compendium (from which you can still buy some perks here) and a donations program to help players attend the tournament. Unfortunately, the donations did not reach the expected goals, but, still, the aid was well-received.

Stars from various countries like Brazil, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, Venezuela, amongst many others, will be attending here. At the time of writing, Astra currently has a total of 203 registered attendees for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U singles and doubles, Super Smash Bros. Melee singles and doubles, Super Smash Bros. 64, and other games like Mortal Kombat XL and Street Fighter V

Here you have full details for all Smash games:

Game|Registered Attendees
Smash 64 Singles|27 Players
Melee Singles|65 Players
Melee Doubles|42 Players (24 Couples)
Smash 4 Singles|103 Players
Smash 4 Doubles|84 Players (42 Couples)
Total*|184 Players
Unaccounted**|30 Attendes
*Players competing in various tournaments are only counted once
**These are attendees registered in Smash.gg, but not registered in any tournament

Now, these numbers may not seem as much compared to tournaments seen in the US, but for Latin American tournaments, Astra is looking to be a major tournament. Consider as well that many of these attendees are traveling from their homeland to Colombia to compete in this tournament. The following is the number of attendees per country:

Country|
|
S's|
D's|
S's|
D's|Others*|Total**
Colombia|14|25|12|77|63|26|120
Brazil|3|5|4|4|3|0|6

**Players competing in various tournaments are only counted once
***Player Edgard "n0ne" Sheleby is representing Canada, but he is originally from Nicaragua

You can find a preview of some notable players in the special Smashboards Player Preview "Know Your Stars" and a full attendees list here.

Thank you for making this public. This is something huge regarding to the actual scene of the video game competition.

Just a little step to a bigger goal ahead. We need all the support we can get from anywhere.
