Please can anyone post their upload/download speeds and tell me their experiences with lag?

I have 1mpbs up and 18mbps down and the input lag is unbelievable.

I'm supposed to have 150mbps down and 5mbps up.
Ookla tells me I have 100mbps down and 5mbps up.

It's too laggy for me personally even though I have nearly lag-free opponents sometimes. But usually it's really close to being acceptable but not enough.
When the game first came out the games were less "laggy". Probably because there were more players and I got to play against those who played in my area.

I heard some good things about "Anther's Ladder" and that it should help me find players that I have a good connection to. I haven't tried it yet though so I don't know if it's true or not.

Download speeds are meaningless. What matters is the latency. You can have the fastest connection, but if your ping is high, the game will lag. I have a considerably slow connection and I can play online fine in certain games, because my ping isn't that high. The problem with the online in Smash is that netcode isn't that good. Lagless matches are possible, but rare.

It also obviously depends on where the opponents live you are facing. I live in the EU but constantly get paired up with US opponents. More than half of the time the lag is unbearable. I wish the game had an option where you could search for opponents only in or near your region.

60 mbps down, 5 up, but my matches have varied between smooth and lagless, slight but noticeable lag, occasional slowdowns but otherwise unnoticeable lag, considerable input lag, stop-and-go lag, and even an extremely slow lag-a-thon where the game stops every tenth of a second as if I'm watching a slideshow presentation.

I've got 40 down, 5 Up. I mostly have smooth or near smooth experiences now except for when my opponent's internet isn't good. Keep in mind that you could have local issues that are preventing a good connection (like a lot of interference or competing Wifi signals if you are on wireless, or misconfigured router if you are hard-lined in) and, if I remember right, the Wii U max's out it's internet speed at 10 Mb down. My Wii U is now connected via ethernet cable, and I see a consistent 8 Mb on the Wii U itself (max out at 10 Mb, lowest is 5-6 Mb on bad days) when I perform a speed test. When I was on Wifi, I was getting an average of 4 Mb, with a high of 8 and a low of .5Mb due to lots of WiFi interference.

120 down, 35 up. I play most of the time at night (After 9PM EST) and the lag is pretty bad. last night it was every other match was unplayable... so I know the issue is not with me. I do run into a lot of laggy matches and it's quite annoying. They are either connection-laggy or BAD input lag... but I try to make due. Or just go to Smash Ladder.

Your ping times (and the distance between you and your opponent) are what matter for online games, and less so up/download speeds. A ping time of 50ms means all inputs are delayed by about three frames (1 frame = 16ms), which is manageable. Past 60-70ms, the delay starts getting really noticeable and off-putting. You can test your connection's ping rate here - if it's past 80ms or so, you're probably better off not playing online unless you can get a better connection. If your ping time is good, you're just being unlucky with match-making, and getting opponents with poor connections on their end.
