I plan on making a Hornet moveset since she would also be a viable candidate (and she'd be more fun imo).

The Knight would be a light, relatively quick swordsman with good reach. He will have good range, but will have a bad disadvantage state from being unable to gain Soul and having a punishable recovery.

Soul Meter: Just like in the game, the Knight will build up soul by hitting the opponent. It also slowly fills over time. It works similarly to Cloud's Limit. Using regular special moves will drain the meter, but the Soul Meter fills up a quicker than Limit. If the meter is filled then the special moves will become their more powerful shadow versions and consume all Soul. Forward special, however, does not consume Soul.

TILTS

Jab: The Knight thrusts with his Nail. The rapid jab is a rapid strike from the nail, ending with a forwards swing like his basic attack in the game.

Forward tilt: This is a forwards swing almost identical to the rapid jab finisher except it is a bit bigger.

Down tilt: The Knight sweeps with the nail, sending opponents upwards.

Up tilt: The Knight swings his nail above his head. It is a good anti-air but does not hit grounded opponents.

Dash attack: The Knight will dash forwards with shade cloak before unleashing the Dash Slash. It is relatively strong and the Knight is invincible during the shade cloak dash, but it is slow and has poor vertical range.

AERIALS

Neutral air: The Knight swings the mantis claw around, similarly to Min Min's Ramram nair. It is quick but not very strong.

Forward air: A swing forward, identical to the ftilt. Quick and has great reach, but not strong. Should be primarily used as a spacing or combo tool.

Back air: A backwards slash. Shorter than fair but stronger as well. One of the Knight's better kill options.

Down air: A downwards swing. If this move makes contact with anything, the Knight will bounce up a small distance. If it hits with the very tip of the nail it will spike.

Up air: A swing above the Knight's head, identical to the Utilt.

SMASH ATTACKS

Note: While charging Fsmash and Dsmash, the Knight will have a glowing charge around him like in the game.

Forward smash: The Knight will use the Great Slash, a move that hits in front. It has good verticality as well, so it can catch opponents jumping out of shield. The move varies with how long it is charged: uncharged it won't kill but is quicker, and the longer it is charged it becomes stronger and slower.

Down smash: The Knight uses Cyclone Slash, spinning around with his nail. This move lingers, but only hits once like Link's grounded uspecial.

Upsmash: The Knight charges the Crystal Heart before leaping upwards and slashing around himself with the nail. If hit by the first part of the move, you are knocked upwards into the second part. It is good when used to read a jump from the opponent.

SPECIALS

Note: All of these specials besides forward special use Soul.

Neutral Special: Vengeful Spirit - A quick, large projectile that moves in front of the Knight. With full Soul, it becomes Shade Soul, becoming bigger and more powerful, and can go through multiple opponents.

Forward Special: The Knight charges the Dreamnail and creates a Dreamgate at his position. By charging the dream gate again, the Knight will teleport to the dream gate. After teleporting, the Dreamnail will have to recharge for 5 seconds before another gate can be opened. It is an amazing recovery, but is risky because your opponent can punish it by waiting outside the gate.

Up Special: The Knight uses Howling Wraiths, a slow but strong spell with large range that consumes Soul. Fully charged it becomes Abyss Shriek, and becomes much stronger while increasing the range.

Down Special: Desolate Dive - The Knight rises up and then drops down with an impact. The ledge can be grabbed at any time, so it can be used if a little more recovery is needed. The full Soul version is Descending Dark, which rises a bit further and creates a large shockwave around the impact. This one of the Knight's strongest moves if it hits. It is very similar to King Dedede's up B but doesn't send the Knight upwards as much.

THROWS

The Knight has a poor throw game, but is able to get a bit out of Back throw and down throw.

Forward throw: The Knight stabs the opponent with the Nail, launching them forwards.

Back throw: The Knight tosses the opponent backwards in a similar angle to Marth.

Down throw: The Knight pins the opponent to the ground with the nail before stomping on them.

Up throw: The Knight throws the opponent up and slashes them once with the nail.

FINAL SMASH

The Knight strikes in a large area in front with the Dream Nail. The opponents are taken to the Dream Realm, where the Radiance fires a large beam of light at them.

Is there not another Hollow Knight thread?

Fun moveset, though.
