Of the writing of this post, the average critic score there is 94. That's looking damn good. SO far only one critic review is under 90. I'm sure in the coming days and next week for the PAL reviews, we will see them being put up on the metacritic website. So I think keeping an eye on that space is a good idea if you're into critic reviews of the game.

Actually, they REALLY liked everything about Smash 4 except Smash Tour to an extent. I watched their Review Discussion, which they say they are just waiting on the online to release the review. The only review I can fairly see and make my agreements/disagreements off of is GameXplain, but I just want the game to do good.

I wonder if there are any complaints about the challenges, as there are a good amount of them that are ridiculous on the difficulty meter.

I don't think any reviewer should be slapping a finalized rating until they've tried online. Online servers go up tomorrow evening.

Actually offline review and online review should be separate. A game that can stand on its own is inherently more valuable than a game that relies heavily on online play.
A praise filled review based only online isn't that great when the servers are dead.

Which is fine, because Smash stands well on its own without online and it's kinda expected that you have friends to play with if you're buying a WiiU/Smash.

Looks promising so far, although I agree that they should really hold off until online is examined properly (hasn't even gone up yet I don't think).

Still though, the fact that the single player elements and content alone is conjuring up ratings like these is great to see, especially coming from the likes of IGN, who typically hate on anything Nintendo.
