I recently bought Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the wii. It is the first fighting game to go online. I tried it online and it is very laggy...so laggy that it is about unplayable. if u can imagine it is probably slightly slower than 1/4 speed in ssbm training mode. the single player on the dbz game is amazing though and very fast paced. i am kinda worried after seeing the intense lag on this game...i really hope brawl isnt like this. i did see on atari's forums that it is a nintendo issue and they know about the lag problem. so hopefully they will be able to fix this and have experience for when brawl hits the nintendo wifi network.

i experienced it for my self but heres an article about it:

What kind of a connection do you have and where was the person you were fighting from?

Also, does this DBZ game have a little lag indicator like Brawl does?

Have you tried other games? I haven't played DBZ, but Mario Strikers Charged has almost no lag.

i have dsl and it doesnt say their location... and no lag indicator, every match has a huge amount of lag...it is almost a different game online. offline is so fast that you cant really even play the same way online. i also posted a link to an article about this in the first post.

DBZ: BT3 is a very differnet game then Brawl is as far as the type of information sent in all directions.

I'm sure someone can empthesis on it more clearly then I can since I haven't play DBZ games in awhile... but I imagine your dealing with a different set of conditions and transmissions compared to something a wee bit more simple like Brawl seems to be.

It sounds like normal internet lag plus some weird Nintendo issue. I'm sure the only lag you'll get is the standard network kind and just maybe if there are tons of items on the screen

What an earlier poster said, Mario Strikers has very little to no lag whatsoever (and you're able to see their connection before you start, accepting their challenge or not)... So if you can't see their connection, I'm sure that's the issue right there.

I've been playing DBZ BT3 as well and the lag is unbearable. Having a good connection obviously helps, but without decent servers the online feature in BT3 won't get any better.

I'm pretty sure that Brawl won't end up the same way, though. It's simply got too much on the line to screw things up.

The Tenkaichi games are more heavy on that kind of stuff than Smash, in Tenkaichi you have Kamehamehas and characters flying at inmense speeds with Flashy effects and sounds at the same time, with a giganormous enviorement(compared to smash stages).

And on the Wii... it's obvious that it would be laggy.
