It's been no secret that we plan on producing a compilation of unique materials from FC. Since we will have a unique blend of past and present pros at the event, we have worked with Travis Beauchamp, creator of The Smash Brothers documentary, to plan a panel discussion on Melee past and future. This will obviously work best if all top players are there, so we're planning a fund to assist with this effort! However, we have never wanted to simply ask the community for money, so we have gone through Kickstarter to create a system where everyone who participates also gets something back for their efforts.
Kickstarter creates the best venue to easily share reward information and spread the word on what we are trying to accomplish, so we have set up a project there.
We've received excellent participation in the card game project so far, and we're nearing 25 players who have said they will participate, including champions like Armada, Mew2King, PP, and Hungrybox. The card game was always meant to be a way to help guarantee the attendance of top pros, and we're happy to use this as a means of "preselling" the game. Donating at the $75 level will allow you to direct your donation to one of the qualifying players, and also receive a bonus card on top of that.
Ultimately, we want to bring together the community in such a way that everyone can feel like a part of it, while expressing gratitude for your contributions in a meaningful way.
