A long time ago, there was a Death Note thread in the Debate Hall. I've decided to remake it. Here goes.

The human whose name is written in this notebook will die.

In Death Note, brilliant high school student Light Yagami picks up a notebook called "Death Note." He quickly finds out that when he writes someones name in the note, they die. Light, having a strong sense of justice, knows what he must do: He begins to kill criminals in order to create an ideal world. When hundreds upon hundreds of criminals begin dying at once, the world famous detective L decided to crack the case. Light and L both believe they are doing what is best for the world. Is Light creating an ideal world, or is he nothing but a murderer?

All humans, without exception, will die.

Who is right?

Would the deaths of all criminals lead to an ideal society?

Does the end justify the means?

Is it wrong to kill, no matter the circumstances?
