Recent updates confirm this. I suppose the game IS still changing. This was actually shown a while ago, but I didn't see anyone mention it.

This is good! The old portraits were far too large and intrusive, they could try blending them intro the background a bit more, but never the less, its still an improvement. Who knows, maybe we will get the mini head icons back too instead of the red dots.

They were smaller than the original size at E4All too, at first they were way bigger [and way uglier].

I could still personally go without the portraits, they're too bright and distracting, personally. =[

^ In the demo? I think I saw very big ones of them too, but don't know where I saw them. I just watched some demo vids, but the portraits were the same size as they're in this update...

I agree with the person that said the icons are a little too distracting. Hopefully these icons will not get in the way when people are sent flying in the air (it happened in Melee all of the time for me during 4 player matches).

The portraits go transparent when players go behind them.

i personally like the dots. the little heads in melee got weird when you changed colors, i.e., green roy has green hair for hit little head, which is quite ugly :urg:
