The Case For Adding Dash Dancing

When looking at the title, it may seem that this is purely for competitive purposes. That makes sense. Competition is not the only matter regarding the need for dash dancing, however. Note, that I mean Melee dash dancing -- the one that does something. There is much more reason behind why it should be here than the fact that it makes the game more competitively viable.

With patches and things of the sort, a game like this can be modified to fix bugs, improve it, and the like. Adding dash dancing is not a farfetched idea. It takes editing of each character's initial dash frames and is completely possible.

I am liking this game thus far. It is second to Melee on my list. One thing bothers me, though. It's not a lack of l-canceling or a lack of wavedashing. What bothers me is that my mobility is limited because I cannot turn around at the beginning of a dash. The removal of being able to do this in Brawl created much more hindered movement. Ladies and gentlemen, I know people argue about wavedashing being an exploit. That is understandable in some senses. What is the reasoning behind not putting in dash dancing despite it being what the competitive community wanted most and could most easily have been added initially?

Dash dancing isn't even a totally competitive thing. It makes moving more fluid and less choppy. Instead of having to roll back at the beginning of a dash, it would be more fluid if you could just turn around.

For those who want to stick to their guns saying that dash dancing should not be in because it's just a Melee thing, try moving back and forth in Melee, Brawl, and this game. See what feels better. Even those who do not play competitively would enjoy this addition. Hindered movement is not fun. Going where you want after you tell the game to take you there is. There's strength in numbers ladies and gentlemen. I can't be the only person who wants this in the game -- a game that can be patched.
