The Best Debate Award

As I attempted to do with the first DWYP, I will be recognizing the debate I consider (after speaking with judges) as the best debate of the round. At the end of the contest, I will take the best from every round, and every debate hall member will vote on the Best Debate of DWYP 2. We'll work on a prize later, but at the very least you'll get a distinct custom title and maybe an avatar designed by someone that is good at making them.

Of course.

Criteria for best of debate is something like:
1. Use of secondary sources that are reliable, credible, and relating to the topic at hand.
2. Both debaters are respectful of each others opinions, never devolving into name calling or attacks.
3. Both debaters present their sides in as clear a way as possible.
4. Debaters present new ideas for the topic at hand.

This is changing, but basically, you'll know the best of the round when you read it all.

I think this thread needs to become the "read this before starting your debates to make sure you're doing it properly" thread. After a cursory glance in a DWYP thread I saw no sources at all.

Pleassseee use sources. I mean, unless your opponent is just spouting bigoted nonsense (see DWYP1) then you should be using sources to back up your argument.

Besides in terms of debates, mine so far has been more about ethics so are sources really needed as much as in a different debate?

Why are your names orange? And how do you get custom titles anyway?

If your name's orange, your a writer. To get writer's status, place in the top three in a WWYP contest. On your second question, that goes along with some contests. Also, premium members could have titles, and MODs too.
