Hey guys. I always loved that the 3DS version is gonna have 3D, so I made a thread just for it!
Welcome to the (unofficial) thread to talk about all the cool things the 3D can bring to us for smash. What I really want is the character select to have characters pop out when you place your cursor over it, or you choose your character on the bottom screen, and they are shown on the top screen in 3D!

Anyways, what ideas would you want for the 3DS game that involves 3D?

I'm mainly interested in the amount of cool screenshots I can make with the use of the 3D. Something I really enjoyed doing in Brawl was taking a few screenshots during a battle. Take a snapshot, rotate a little bit to the left or right, take another snapshot, rotate a bit more towards the left or right etc. Then save the pictures on the SD card and then with the help of a cool little program you can convert the snapshots you made into an MPO file and view them in 3D on the 3DS through the Nintendo 3DS Camera app. It's awesome and very fun, I'm probably going to do this for the Wii U version again.

Anyway's about the 3DS version. I hope you are able to switch between the depth or pop-out effect like you can do in Super Mario 3D Land, especially when you want to take some screenshots during some awesome moments.

Still hoping for a Virtual Boy Wario Ware stage where you can use the 3D to warp to different areas like the original game, it'd be like the pipes in 64 just 10x more badass!

Eh I always hated 3D, it never works on me (I.E. the stuff never pops out at me be it a move via 3D glasses or the 3D screen on the 3DS). It jsut makes it more blury for me and harder on the yes, so I probably won't use it as it is useless for me. I got the 3DS for the games not the 3D. :L

Seems like the 3D would be a cool option, while also using a free camera mode where you can zoom in, take snapshots and add certain 3D effects like character moves popping out at you.

In special Brawl (if they have it), it would be cool to put the camera in fixed mode and everything is in 3D.

I usually don't like playing in 3D it is really hard on my eyes. The only game I use 3D is Super Mario 3D Land, because some of the puzzles are a lot easier in 3D.

I'll probably watch any cutscenes/opening video in 3D and keep it off the rest of the time. Prone to motion sickness, don't wanna mess with that for long. Plus, I move around too much playing Smash to keep my head at a precise angle to the system.

3D tends to bring out any imperfections out on my screen, like the scratched screen sides. I'll probably not use it to much. When I try it and if it blows me away, then I'll use it.

I think I'll use it, but not as much. It depends, really. Most of the times, I tend to play games in 2D.

I'd love to see some screen KO's in 3D. That'd be quite amusing (and odd at the same time).

I played this in 3D, and:

1) Screen KO's look awesome in 3D
2) Nintendogs really does stick out of the screen
3) The stage remains in it's plane and the background has depth
4) Characters remain close to the screen, and when the camera zooms in, elements sometimes pop out of the screen
5) The cursor in the CSS also pops out just a little.

Lying about my country.
The 3D effect is one my reasons to think of the black outlines as unnecesary, and being glad for the option to turn them off.

Characters won't get lost in the background when they're at a completely different depth, you just won't be focusing on both things at once with 3D on.
