With the last of Nintendo's hardcore franchises out of the way, Nintendo has nothing left in it's hardcore arsenal of games. E3 2008 is just proof of this. They have to step up their game(s) if they want to maintain their hardcore crowd. As I am writing this paragraph, not a single upcoming game for the Wii comes to mind that I am looking forward to.
If they want to keep up with the competition, they need to consistently have hardcore games on the horizon. To name just a few, I'm looking forward to: Resident Evil 5, Gears of War 2, Final Fantasy XIII and Soul Calibur IV on my 360 (and theres more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head). Many of these were once Playstation exclusives. On the Wii, I'm looking forward to...Hoping that they announce a good game from one of their best franchises.
See the problem here? Hope is good, but is certainly not enough. When the 360 line-up looks THAT promising, I would rather put my money where all the games are heading.
