If you pause at the right time at 0:07 in this commercial:http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29404.html

...you can see Mario standing on Pikachu's head right before he goes flying. Maybe you can stand on another player's head if they are standing still. :O

Ooh, I have another idea! What if (only in team battles) you were able to automatically grab your partner's legs if they were dangling from the edge? Then maybe you could both recover! I'll show you guys what I mean in a purposely rushed sprite comic(I can actually make goodish sprite comics, but that'd beside the point):http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2417/blaghwj7.png

Also, if the top character gets hit off the edge, the bottom player loses his/her grip on the top player's feet. I think it'd be cool if that was a team battle only feature in Brawl.

Discuss. :O

After what i could see. Then Mario was just stunned by the forward smash attack.
But (incase you didn't know) in Brawl then characters can jump off other chars' heads(Footstool Jump).

I know about the Footstool Jump, but I figured you would just go through someone if you didn't input the action to pull of a FJ.

In the same video I posted, when Andross is shown, it sounds like he burps. XD

Also, in the first commercial we saw, I remember I saw Mario standing the exact same way for a half a second after Pikachu hit him with Thunder. He stood dazed for at most half second, then went flying from the attack.

I think the grabbing idea would be even cooler if it wasn't team battle only, so you could even grab onto your opponent during a free-for-all or one on one. On one hand it would eliminate the element of Edgehogging, but it would also add another layer of strategy.
Maybe once you grabbed onto someone's feet you could press up to climb over them and get up the ledge before them, then edgeguard once they get on. That kind of mechanic would add a whole other dimension to gameplay.
That's an ingenious idea, I bet Sakurai didn't think of that one (although he did claim that 'we've thought of everything'......)

It just looks like mario got hit by pika's fsmash and was stunned a bit while it hit him.

When I first thought of this idea around a year ago, I also thought the climbing thing would be cool. I even thought it might be neat if you could press the A button and have your character hit the character they're hanging onto lightly in hopes that they would fall off and you would both die. However, I've decided that team only is probably better because edge-hogging is fun. =P

I think you mean spatz weird but yes: that is the footstool jump.

And that grabbing onto the other person's foot idea is a pretty good one. But it'd be kinda awkward to implement as a team-only thing.

Footstool! Jaump!!!

EDIT: When Bowser, Kirby, Diddy Kong and the Ice Climbers are Brawling, Bowser's name is Koopa...most likely a name change (which also confirms the names where the normal name used to be and IIRC it wasn't in Melee o_O) but um, is it a name change?

EDIT 2: Squirtle's name is Zenigame which is Squirtle's Japanese name. So is Koopa representing Bowser in Japanese?

ffs guys, watch the video, it's not a footstool jump... Mario just got hit by Pikachu's fsmash and was stunned in his standing animation for a split-second before he went flying.

Wikipedia said:
Bowser, alternately referred to as King Koopa and known in Japan as Koopa (クッパ, Kuppa?), is a video game character in Nintendo's Mario universe. He is known for being persistent abductor of Princess Peach in the series.
Thats because it's the Japanese version.
