You know that feel when...

Was chattin with my friend at work on games, and he was talking about his clan bull**** in **** of dooty ghosts, and I bring up Counter Strike GO and competitive games. I somehow mentioned smash bros and how I love how competitive it is, and as with most I usually get the impression that they love it because everyone grew up with ssb64. So I go to his house with my n64 and we play, and I completely blow them out of the water. Every time, the chance for a challenge appears, my hopes are ruined.

Auf Wiedersehen, Smash Bros.

PS. I love you online community. You're the best putupwiththeworstsoftwareintheworldinordertoplaythebestgameevercreatedonline community of people on the net.

Smash bros, alienating people since 1999.
Shears, I believe you know from playing teams with him - I have this problem with my friend John. He could be SO good if he stopped being so stubborn about learning advanced techniques. It's really not that hard to press z before you touch the ground after an aerial. Only takes like an hour of practice to start getting it down ok, then with months of practice it just becomes such a natural thing you don't think about it - your z finger just does it automatically.

Not even an hour. I showed one of my scrubby friends what it is and he could do it pretty much immediately. It's not like it's a tight timing or anything. Obviously he doesn't do it automatically though, like competitive players, but yeah.

It took me about 10 minutes to start recognizing z cancel timing, by week 3-4 I was getting probably 90% of the cancels. Not sure why I said an hour. Really tired right now.

Not z-canceling and only playing ness are the two things holding him back. He fixes those problems and he is going to be very good because he already has the mind game. I definitely think perception is the most important, but the tech is fairly easy (although I'm probably the worst at it) so why not just break the habit and get better in a couple hours. Let yourself lose a couple friendlies to practice form.
