The protagonist of the FIRST Mother game was a young boy named "Ninten", who is a DEAD ringer for Ness.

In the interest of not celebrating early, I wouldn't say he's 100%, but we either have one or the other.

It would make sense since Ninten's moveset could be VERY different from Ness'.

while as far as the eyes go, it does look more like Ninten (I thought the same thing when i saw it) I highly doubt they'd get rid of ness and add Ninten. The original Mother didn't sell well, even in Japan.

True, but this is Sakurai.

And since Japan-only characters are fair game, he may have decided to include the "Marth" of the Mother series for Brawl.

It would explain why his moveset would be so different, unless Ness is a clone (or would Lucas be the clone?).

Unlikely. Ness already has the bonus of Onett (Unless Ninten has something to do with it... I didn't read too much >.<), And existing in both the other SSB games.

doesnt ness's hat always have the brim pointing left? the image of ninten has the hat's brim pointing right and the character in the stickers pdate is pointing left like ness's

I'd be sad to see Ness go myself, but I'm not going to get my hopes up unless I'm 100% certain of it.

Ninten is a DEAD ringer for Ness, and I mean Ness is just an updated version of Ninten. Ninten was also on Sakurai's list.

If people are arguing that Marth is the progenitor of the FE franchise and therefore shouldn't be axed for that reason, then the argument that Ninten was the first and should be included pops up.
