Hello fellow smashers, I'm a chill motherfudger who's been playing Melee fairly seriously for almost a year. I say fairly seriously because I haven't been to any tournaments, but I would consider myself competitive. I main Mario and have a lot of secondaries (Ganondorf, Fox, Falco, Sheik, Puff). I've been sparring with my bro (not on smash boards yet) who doesn't really main anyone but plays Captain Falcon, Falco, Puff, Marth, and G&W. I've also been trying to get some friends into the game, but out of the 3 we've gotten hooked, 1 of them is a pretty nice Samus so I kind of know the matchup. I also tried to get PM, but I downloaded the old version that kept crashing and then to try to fix it, my parents caught me and won't let me download it.

I live in Syosset, NY (Long Island) and I don't really know anybody else to play. Would be cool if there were other people around my area, but just curious.

I also play Pokémon competitively (Smogon) and would consider myself above average. I play every tier, but I'm best at UU. If I had to have a favorite pokémon, it would either be the incredibly annoying Klefki or the fantastic setup sweeper Gyarados. I hate people who use full legendaries online and would like some more competition for that too.

Can't wait to hopefully get my name out there and spread the badassary of Mario in Melee.

Ha ha, before entering this thread, when I saw your username, I thought you were gonna bring up Guitar Hero, but this is even better. Eric Johnson is a beast, sounds like you are too

And nice Main and secondaries by the way. I like all of those characters. Well, except for Fox (not Smash related) and Puff's alright. Sucks to hear about your PM issues though.

As for wanting to play with some local players, check out the Regional Zones forum if you haven't gotten around to it yet. You'll come across some Smashers in your area there (although occasionally some people from your area pop up in this forum as well).

Funny thing you say Guitar Hero, that got me into playing guitar. I'm also mad good at that and can get at least 95% on like every song on expert. I would go to tournaments for that in a heartbeat if the community wasn't dead.

Yeah, Guitar Hero gets numerous people into playing guitar honestly. The magic of video games is how it can actually affect you in the real world, ha ha.
