Your Lucas is fairly solid. A few times you were spaced perfectly for an fsmash but didn't pull it out (0:30 of the anther vid, after walking away from him, for instance). That kind of confused me.

You racked up damage fairly quickly, but seemed to always be at a loss of KO capacity. Dsmash is your friend. So is PsiM for that matter. ROB's first stock would have been destroyed if you had whipped out a SH PsiM to punish one of his dsmashes.

The most important thing:

LEARN TO B-STICK. I cannot stress this enough. Your game will improve so much just from learning to b-stick.

I like your play style for the most part. Especially that you seem to use Lucas's Uair more than most. Such an underrated aerial. I have to disagree with Gofg on B-sticking. I find it to be mostly overrated. Especially since hearing rumours that some tournaments aren't allowing controller setup changes because it takes too long. I wouldn't depend much on the psi magnet either. I don't find it to be a very dependable move due to the time it takes to use and considering all of Lucas's other options. Also your PK Thunder use is pretty awful (especially against Anther) but maybe that was just due to the lag? If not I'd spend some time working on your angles for sweetspotting the ledge and in general work on your control of it.

GofG has the right idea with b-sticking... your aerial pk fires usually landed you too close to Anther. I like your PKT assault from straight above the ledge, but yeah, recovery still needs a lot of work. If you end up b-sticking anyway, consider zap jumping for recovery, even though it's kind of hard to pull off without a lot of practice.

Thanks very much for the advice :) I think you hit a lot of points that I've been going over in my own head. Inability to KO is a major one; I haven't figured out any good setups for landing one at around 80 or 90 without them walking into it, like a platform dsmash or a shielded attack to stick, so the best of the best rarely jump into my janx; instead, I focus on adding KO options by building damage. At 80-90, an upsmash will kill yeah, but at 130, u-air and f-air become major additions as well to the KO arsenal as well as PK thunder and PK fire and his grabs, so if I can't get an opening, I just build damage with n-airs and PK fire.

As far as B-sticking goes, I'd like to learn wavebounce do it without the b-stick, because I c-stick everything :x but I can't find the thread.

Ledgehopped psi magnets are neat, but do you find them to be more useful than LH fairs?
If they don't have a good up-air, then f-air through them often, but Psi M is a little safer if you hit shield and catches some people off guard. The best thing to do is just jump and air-dodge through them to get back on the stage I think, followed by doing the normal ledge stand because it's so fast.

Aww man I was so pissed that I kept killing myself lol, usually my PK thunder is top notch, I spent a lot of time studying that. I can hit every angle including straight up very consistently even in lag, but I guess the pressure of the match was getting to me.

Thanks for the comments everyone :) more friendlies of me getting owned by sonic (wtf sonic!?) coming in about 3 secs.

Techno, I think the wavebounce discussion took place in the AT thread, I'll link it if I find it.

The vid that has arrowhead doing the wavebounce w/ control stick:

The discussion was on the second page of the AT compendium (a sticky).

I'll look at your vids when I get a second.

These were very entertaining to watch. Let me start off by saying thank you, and that your game play is solid. Against Sonic, it appears that he controlled the duration of the fights. You've got great evading, but a defense with more % impact would turn the battle. I'd suggest the following:

Against his charged roll, simply use more pk fires. I know its boring and lame, but its free damage and provides abit more control. It will also give you a quick offensive rush, as he gets knocked into the air, seeing as how you (and me both) love Lucas' aerial arsenal. With any control such as this, you'll be able to land more hits on the speedy opponent, instead of playing catch.

Also playing against someone so fast, your F-airs and B-airs have a harder time landing on them. I'd suggest more N-airs all together, since they have a longer cast time. Lucas N-airs are easier to combo in/out of anyway.

Get familiar with the b-sticking/pk fire/waveland ****, its quite useful when you make it second nature, and its a unique trait that Lucas has! It may seem trivial at first, but it really can be useful when mastered.

I must note for anyone who didn't watch them all: The ending to Sonic match 4 is gold. He finally landed one!

Mega bump for tournament updates.

A lot of people have been having trouble against ROB so I uploaded a set that I won against Ginger (pretty good Vegas ROB)

More vids coming soon.

Tuckahoe, don't say anything...lol
i dunno why everyone is just saying "b stick b stick b stick" b sticking is simply just a matter of playstyle, c stick set to smashes is perfectly fine for a Lucas player. Its not that hard to wave bounce without b sticking...I do it all the time, and as far as zap jumping, it still has its cons...the pk fire leaves you open from everywhere except infront of you, and there is a little lag after it, so zap jumping can be punished very easily if used as recovery...its only a technique that isn't needed to be a good lucas player...
