Hey guys, here's the deal
You post a matchup, and who you would like to win the matchup, as well as what you're having problems with. I'll go through some sample mixups and plays to get you out of trouble in that matchup and help you adapt. Anyone else is welcome to chime in.
I'll start with Fox vs. Falco, favoring Fox.
Fox has a deflector, chaingrabs, combos and Tech-chases here that are all very solid for punking Falco. He's probably the best in the game at beating his wingman, however, becaus Falco is Falco, alot of his stuff seems inescapable and therefore very gay.
Common stuff to avoid in this matchup includes Laser Spam, Pillaring, Falco's Uthrow -> ???.
vs. Spam:
M2K likes to use full hop triple lasers to counter Falco's laser spam and basically trade damage. There's really no point in fighting a spammy Falco due to the risk of combos, and this method keeps the damages pretty even, while not frying your brain and wasting your mindgames.
For the other stuff, the basic thing you're going to need to train is DI. Smash DI away from Falco is generally the best course of action to escape Shine-Dair combos. Against the upthrow, just mix up your DI and don't be predictable, and be able to react quickly when you hit the ground. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can N-air out in some cases. Never DI off the side of the stage, you will likely get spiked.
A few tricks to get out of pillars: 1) Lightshield. You'll slide further away and this can cause Falco to mis-space and enable you to jump out or shieldgrab. 2) JC shine. It should be possible to consistantly JC Shine Falco after his L-cancelled shine to break the Pillar. Fox is the only character than can do this. Be quick, and beware if he double-shines and react accordingly.
Shinespikes are your most effective killers, and Falco's recovery, once you play enough Falcos, gets very predictable no matter how they try to mix it up. A neat trick is to hop out and attempt to shinespike a predicted illusion, then performing a shine-turn, and JCing into a B-air. You can also do this from the edge. You see alot of this in KDJ and occasionally in Masashi vids.
