So Ive been a fox main for a good 7 months id say, ive been playing the game for maybe a little over a year competitively and im in a pickle. Id say for my level im pretty technical, Ive always had ease picking up new tech skill and applying frame specific things in gameplay compared to the other 2 people in bedford that play smash, and while Ive only been to the very good Btown Beatdown smashfests twice, Id feel comfortable saying Im one of if not the most technical players among the group (although I definitely get pretty trashed when I go) I enjoy fox and want to further improve my technical prowess with him and also just get better at the game so I dont get bodied, but my hands are starting to feel the opposite. My hands just kinda arent feeling it, they dont really hurt from my routine techskill practices but they are getting tired and worn out more easily. Where I used to go all night with a crew at my house playing fox all night, recently ive found I have to rotate characters after like a few rounds! I feel like the fatigue is impacting my general play, and although i DO want to be very echical I dont want to sacrifice skill at the game for tech. Should I go trough a character switch or is there something else I can do?

TLDR Im technical, hands are getting worn out easy, what do ;_;

Just keep using Fox. The more you practice, the less effort tech skill will take. If you're starting to have trouble, it's probably because as your general skill improves and your comfort with using advanced tech increases, you're trying to do more and more every match. When I started playing Melee, I usually used Marth even though I liked Fox more, because playing as Fox for more than ten minutes would leave me with shot nerves and shaking hands. Once I committed myself to Fox and started practicing with him exclusively, these problems started to go away---until I started trying to incorporate more advanced tech into my gameplay, at which point I would once again struggle with fatigue until I got the new tech down pat as well.

Take a break.

I had similar problems as in no hand pain but fatigue. Btw each piece of tech you learn will become less stressful on your hands over time, so there's no rush- take your time and take breaks from the game or Fox and you'll be better off.

Tl;DR- I used to do tech-drills quite routinely but when my hands got tired I played less and trained my Falco. Ended up making more progress this way.

This worked for me but what I did was just switch my grip to claw style. (Thumb on c-stick and B, index on Y and A, middle on Z, and ring on R) this makes doing advanced tech super easy to do cause your fingers are already on the buttons. you just have to push them in the correct order. It is really uncomfortable and hard at first but it will definitely help your hands and help u improve.

Edit: I've convinced 4 of my friends to play claw and all of them think it makes playing technically a lot easier. They all say that playing claw is the best decision they made in smash.
