In an exciting announcement, Team Liquid and Curse Gaming have combined to now all be one part of Team Liquid! This means that Smashers Chillin and Hungrybox will now also be playing as members of Team Liquid. Nazgul brought this amazing new development to light this morning - his statement can be read below.
"From this moment onward, myself and Steve Arhancet — the owner of the organization previously known as Curse Gaming — will go forward as co-owners in Team Liquid. All teams previously known as Curse Gaming will now compete under the Liquid name." - Liquid Nazgul
For those interested in how this merger is taking place, Nazgul provided this explanation. "Before I go any further, it is important to point out that the organization known as ‘Curse Gaming’ and the company called Curse Inc. are completely separate entities. This past year, Curse Inc. was the title sponsor of Curse Gaming. Curse Inc.'s title sponsorship ended last year, and what Steve and I are embarking upon has no relation to Curse Inc."
The message here needs to be clear as day: What we're doing is no ordinary partnership. It's not Team Liquid becoming the new title sponsors of an LCS team. This is the full-blown merging of two organizations under the Team Liquid banner."
LiQuiD112 also released a short video sharing his thoughts about the merger between Curse and Team Liquid.
This is also brings news for the smash community. "For our Smash division, HungryBox and Chillindude will be joining up with Ken and KDJ, while Nuckledu will be representing us in Street Fighter."
If you'd like to see the full announcement and see all of the other things happening with this merger, you can see it here on Team Liquid's website.
SmashCapps is excited by this news and hope HungryBox and Chillindude will enjoy being on their new team with Ken and KDJ! Come share your excitement by following him on Twitter.
