Target Test

One thing I've always hated about Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the fact that the Target Test levels are shared throughout all characters, instead of the unique levels that were in Melee. While I'm not sure if it's possible, because Project M is supposed to represent Melee, it would be nice if unique Target Test levels were brought back. Another possible upgrade from Melee and Brawl's Target Test is that, if possible, individual Target Test stages could be made for switching characters that had been split up, such as Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard.

I am well aware that Project M's main focus is on Versus Mode, but I just decided I'd ask.

It's not the worst idea, but I'm not sure if space allows for it, and I'm pretty sure it would take some serious coding to load a different level for each char.

It's not practical, and it's low priority.

That said, it's a great idea.

I really do like that idea. I mean, as Psykid said, space may not allow for it but I do agree that it would be a good idea!

What would you think the stages would be like? Would they try to to keep it retro and base it off of the melee designs? Or do you think that they would take a whole different approach to it entirely?

I would think that it would pertain to the Melee Target Test stages for the veterans that are in Project M, with a few tweaks to fit the characters physics and changes as to still challenge the player. Brawl Newcomers would obviously get a whole new Target Test stage, which I would presume take notes from Melee to keep a persistent feel throughout the stages.

As someone who was really disappointed in the change from unique to universal Target Tests in Brawl, I would love to see Target Tests come back! It would further help identify PM as its own game, but take a hell of a long time to process. Maybe after all the gameplay stuff is finally complete, they'll work on it. (Or Board the Platforms)

That makes a lot of sense actually. Yeah, I heard that the stage hazards are next to impossible to implement into a custom stage. They might come up with their own mode to replace it. Like another way to test solo players skill in a time attack like way. Maybe like an interactive training stage?

I'd rather see reworked Events before anything else. I'd welcome any new fun content though.

I think it's impossible since each target test is a stage.

It would take 36 more stages to get that to work

They would have to re-do how the stages are loaded up for each individual, and they would probably have to code where the data would be stored (I'd assume it would just overwrite the individual character target test level 1 time.)

It's farfetched to say the least.

I'm pretty sure someone already asked something similar... then Strong Bad killed everyone's hopes.
