Smash 3DS tap jump off + short hop input + circle pad slam up = full hop

I don't if this is a glitch or intentional but whenever I short hop and slam the circle pad up (with tap jump off) I do a full hop. It's been very frustrating for whiffing up airs that would of connected if I had short hopped. Anyone else have this issue?

Don't slam your cp? I don't understand why some people have to be so rough.... it works just fine without excess force

I didn't mean slam lol. I actually meant tap, like if I had tap jump on it would, well, jump. Aside from that my circle pad is in pretty good condition
