T.L.O.Z., Toon T.L.O.Z. and Tingle as three separated franchises

I was thinking...
Let's assume in SSB4 there will be Toon Link, Toon Zelda and Tingle.
Don't you think it would be wise to split The Legend Of Zelda series in three separated franchises, like three franchises are Mario, Yoshi and Wario?
I'd like to hear your opinions.

Giving Tingle a separate series is justified. But Toon Link and Link being considered as separate franchises,... NO.

The problem is that Yoshi and Wario series are spin-offs, while the Toon Link games are a part of the mainstream Zelda games.

I don't see the point of lumping a few games that just happen to feature the "toon" design of Link as a seperate series. As Fallkoopa said, their still a part of the Zelda series with the same gameplay style and plot themes etc. Tingle's spin off's are Tingle's own series. Just like how Donkey Kong and Wario don't share their own series with Mario as well as Yoshi... sort of.

The only people who treat the "Toon" Zelda's as a seperate entity are Zelda fans (especially those that hate the "Toon" design for any reason), not Nintendo.

Tingle being treated as a different series? I could see that, since Tingle's games are spin-offs in a vein similar to the Yoshi, DK and Wario series.

Zeldas and "Toon Zeldas" are no series. It is just that some Zelda games share the same Toon art style, much like how OoT and Majora also share the same art style.

Yeah... I agree with what everyone else is saying. Frankly, even the non "toon" Zelda games have had a different art style and level of realism... and it's pretty unlikely that anyone would argue that there should be a new "watercolor" Link for Skyward Sword. Regardless, they're all part of the same (albeit confusing) continuity, so they should be considered as such.

A little unfortunate, because having them be different franchises could justify more of the Tooniverse characters getting in, but... probably not.

Let's name a few 'Zelda' games and a few 'Toon Zelda' games:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

There's something that all those titles have in common that I can't quite put my finger on, but whatever it is I think it makes them all part of the same series.
