Sweetspotting green missile?

Apparently it's possible to sweetspot the ledge with Green Missile now, however, I'm struggling to find the right timing. Any tips?

Basically let it fly when you're a little below the ledge.

An alternative way to make it safe(r) is to try platform cancelling it. I see a lot of the higher end luigi's doing this in melee.

It's always been possible to do so lol (at least from 2.5b and onwards).

I've never heard of sweetspotting ledges with the green missile. What is the purpose of that?

I feel like that would be difficult, if even really possible. My experience is that Luigi will hit the ledge, then fall slightly then grab the ledge. He is still susceptible during that fall period though.... but hey! I could be totally wrong and just be firing a little to early.
