TimeSmash
Smash Champion
Hey everyone, recently in some of the threads here there has been some discussion brought about on the formation of a public relations group of the competitive community so we could more easily advertise these boards as well as have better communications with big gaming tournaments, and perhaps even using this group to obtain sponsors. This is the sort of group that could really help our community grow, and help us decided which tournaments are official, as well as setting up some communications with the people/companies I mentioned above.
Honestly, I'm not sure as to how we would set this up, or as to what SPECIFICALLY our main goals of this group would be. I am asking people of the community, from newcomers to veterans, as to how we would set this up, or if you would even WANT this set up. Please don't troll!
Here are some ideas of what the community wants to accomplish. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS AND THE GOALS SECTION OF THIS THREAD WILL CHANGE OVER TIME. Under "Ideas" I may also put some interesting points people brought up in this thread as well.
Ideas:
1. by Capps: Try to make this a group of people respected by others. Bad attitudes and people who constantly post trashily here shouldn't represent us.
2. by Capps: Having a bunch more options for things like fliers (someone with photoshop helping out to make them) could make even small smashfests even bigger
3. by Capps: Having a better accessible group of tips for TOs that are better organized to help them learn how to start events in their area or get mentors to help them would be awesome
4. by TimeSmash: Possibly create a homepage for the PR group, use social media to advertise Smash and the PR group itself.
5. by TimeSmash: Decide if we want to elect people in this group, or if it will serve as a volunteer basis.
6. by BurningBoom: A big goal of our public relations community should be to make people more aware of the competitive Smash scene, and make sure that Smash is viewed as a tournament-level fighting game like SF, Tekken, SC, etc.
7. by BurningBoom:A great idea would be to have at least one member of the PR team on the Smash 4 backroom
8. by BurningBoom: Setting up streams should be a priority, especially for smaller local events that won't otherwise get coverage.
Ideas are always great, but the next section will be the actual goals we want the PR Group to accomplish. It's up to all of us in these boards to decide what these goals are and how realistic it is to accomplish them. Timeframes of goals would also be great (by that I mean how long would it take to accomplish the goals).
Goals:
TBD
Hopefully this thread kicks off; let's see what we can accomplish!
