A description of this game
We all know Super Mario 1. Released on the NES 1985. Fun game. But what if you could play as other characters instead of Mario? What if you could play the game as Link or Samus or Simon Belmont or Alex (from River City Ransom and the list goes on. Well in this game you can do just this.
I've known about this game fir a while and I've always found it to be very fun.
The game works like this
- There are 3 games in this. Sumer Mario 1, The Lost Levels and a 3rd game the developers made (not as good in my opinion but it's something different.
- Once you've chosen your game you get to choose a map skin. This is what the game will look like. It's still one of the above three games but skinned to look like Super Mario 3 or Castlevania or Blaster Master etc etc. I think a few more skins are needed but I'm not complaining with that is there now.
- Once you've chosen a game mode and map skin you then choose your character to play as. You have 10 base characters to choose from:
Mario (16)
Luigi (15)
Link (25)
Samus (14)
Simon Belmont (19)
Mega Man (27)
Bass (16)
Bill Rizer from Contra (18)
Ryu Hayabusa (12)
Sophia 3 - The Blaster Master car (11)
The numbers in brackets above are the number of sub characters, each main character has. You choose a main character, then you choose a sub character to play as. The main character determines your fighting style and weapons you get. And your sub character determines what you look like and what in game music you have. The music comes from your sub character's game.
Example
1. You choose the standard SMB1 levels.
2. You choose the Super Mario 3 NES map skin
3. You choose the Samus main character
4. You choose the Kid Icarus NES sub character.
Thus you will be playing SMB1 reskinned to look like the NES version of SMB3. You will be playing using the Samus abilities but you will look like Kid Icarus and have the Kid Icuras music playing as you play the game.

Cheats
If you want to unlock all the cheats the easy way without earning them then do this in game:
Menu > cheats > press enter code > wait for sound to end > press up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, x, z
(for those who know that's a very close approximation of the famous Kanomi code)
With all the cheats unlocked, you can turn them all on or off at your own pleasure.
This is a very fun little game. And not easy with other characters too as you can't just jump on everything if you do not choose Mario or Luigi. You have to use their weapons to win. The special button is their weapons (which you can swap out with some characters using the select button). Most character's special weapons have ammo.
